Les Essentiels de Chanel - Fall 2012

Hey ladies!

I have to agree wtih everyone that the models make-up looks 90's ish. I would say early 90's, as lips started to lighten up towards the end. I had a MAC lipstick called Verve (maybe?) that looked a lot like that lipstick on the model. That was back in the day when I only owned about 3 lipsticks total! The beige glossimer looks really pretty though, I bet that'll look really nice on people with pigmented lips. The grey/lilac (going by the description) nail polish is nice too, but not sure how that would look on olive skin.

Haven't been on all that much lately, but things are okay on my end. The house has been coming along (we're starting to add punches of colour now!), the kids' are great, work has gone from bad to worse (sort of new manager has really proved now that she has no soul), but baseball season has started for the kids, and that's keeping us busy (I'm coaching my daughter's tball team!). And that in a nut shell is a complete update, lol!

I thought the nail polish Frenzy was grey ?? Otherwise this collection is very pretty !

The Chic RCS looks different than what I expected from the promo pic. I think it's too dark and brown for me, still looking forward to swatches of it, but I think it's off my list. I was hoping it had a more grayish mauvy tone to it.

Haven - Why do you say the colours may not look good on you? Are they too cool-tomed/brown?

Sorry that it took so long for me to get back to this thread! Yes I fear that some products will most definately be too cool toned/brown, and this is not a look that I can easily pull off. I really hope that some products will work on me though.

Now the 2012 summer collection was made for my skintone.

It seems like there is an overwhelming number of upcoming collections and it's very confusing to me.

I forgot. She also said that Chanel is discontinuing the RA lipsticks for a whole new different line of lipsticks & people are not happy about it & are already complaining about it.

They are just supposedly "reformulating" the RAs and introducing new shades - or that's what I've read previously anyway. This blogger seems to think it's all about the older shades being "old". Here is some info -- and there is a pink beige!

I think most non-fanatics will not even notice unless there's a color they buy repeatedly. Unless change the case too? But personally I doubt they'll do that. What do you think?

^^That are great news. I don't have any RAs, although I always wanted to try one. But I find the perm colors kind of boring. And we never get the great collections, like Knightsbridge, I would have loved those. So I'm glad seeing all those pinks. the colors sound very promising.
I have a feeling I will like Secrete, a 'blue soft pink'. And the pink beige one.

I'll have to look at all of the swatches from you fabulous ladies (so I don't re-buy the same exact shade LOL) Kinda excited to see what they come up with. I hope the formula is as good as the original!
