Can I ask what colors you have on your cheeks and lips in your profile pic? It's so pretty! This is for volvoked?? LOL, I know that's wrong, but I'm on my phone and I can't find it! Sorry, I know you're from tx. Thanks

I've been thinking this too which really saddens me. A part of me hopes other swatches prove me wrong but my wallet prays it's right.
Yeah my wallet is hoping I don't want anything, either lol. I don't often use the MES and MB i have now but I'm already satisfied with the color selection I own. Water looks super pretty but I have plenty of teal and aqua shades so I'm sure I can create something similar!

I am such a sucker for things that are shimmery mermaidy aqua blue... I'm just repeating to myself that I don't like MES... I WONT USE IT.... I WONT.

OMG! OMG OMG!

My friendly MAC mua phoned me last night, but i didn't get the message. Fortunately she phoned me this AM as soon as the store opened and i was there within the hour. They were still putting them out when i got there. My little heart was going pit-a-pat and i was practically hyperventilating (ok, ok, i'm being melodramatic :)

All my resolve melted when i began testing them. I wasn't the very first, though, since my friendly mua had tested a couple. They are all SOOOOO beautiful. As i have said, i have a dumb phone and no camera, so my profuse and profound apologies that i can offer no swatches.

Those who abhor glitter, well, these are not for you. They are all all shimmery... and some of that shimmer leads to fallout. But it is fine tiny fall out and easily brushed away.

My friendly mua offered to set one of each aside for me - but i really cannot afford them all. So far, i have only pre-ordered 5 of them - 4 eyeshadows and one blush (marked with a √ below). But, well, i'm going back in a couple days with my own brushes for more testing.

EYESHADOWS
They're all lovely - and they truly look multidimensional when swirled together. Each one has one or two richly pigmented colors, many of them matte, and at least one metallic shimmer, sometimes two. Because the swirls are fairly large, yes, even in the e/s, you can control which colors and how much you use, if you want to be that meticulous, or you can just swirl them together. While a couple look a tad muddy in low light, they just glisten with layers of color and shimmer in light. Finally, there is a nice range from dark to pale, and most of the spectrum gets covered, so there's probably at least one color for everyone.

Earthly - Beige, peach and cool brown melange - blended this makes a medium taupe, but used more carefully can yield warmer and/or lighter tones.
Aurora - Peach, green, and brown melange - the green is muted and metallic - it made a sort of greyed coral when swirled, quite nice and wearable.
Magnetic Attraction - Orange, pink and gold melange - What can i say? This was fabulous! Somehow when swirled, the color was both warm and cool - a bit coral and a bit purple.
Neo Nebula - Cream, warm amethyst and warm pink melange - this made a lovely medium light cool rose
Universal Appeal - Gold, bronze and violet melange - this disappointed me - nothing wrong with it, just didn't meet my hopes or expectations - it made quite a dark color, rather plummy, but again, the swirls are pretty big, so i could extract all three colors.
Invincible Light - Icy white, lavender and warm gold melange - this is the palest of the nine, an almost white pink
Bright Moon - Grey, silver and icy green melange - the grey is really more of a cold blue, and the green has a bluish cast, swirled it made a fairly bright medium-light green, leaning slightly blue
Sky - Green gold, turquoise and cobalt melange - the turquoise and the cobalt are matte - and with large enough swirls (like the one i tested) you can actually wear it as three colors
Water - Yellow, lime green and blue melange - this looked surprisingly nice swatched - a dimensional warm green - one of the darker tones

They all go on smoothly, no rubbing sandpaper on your eyelids. Yes, there can be some fine fall-out - but nothing is chunky or gritty (i know some Mineralize e/s have been in the past) and all deliver beautiful color (and i know poor color payoff has also been a problem).

BLUSHES
On first test i wanted them ALL! Each is quite different from the other and all can be controlled to be bright or subtle

Ring of Saturn - Terracotta and gold melange - a very wearable, everyday sort of coral -- with lots of shimmer - or build it up for more intense color.
Solar Ray - Peach and gold melange - a very wearable, everyday sort of light warm peachy pink -- with lots of shimmer. I have both Blonde and Redhead, so i finally decided to pass on this, but it was lovely
Stratus - Amethyst and golden brown melange - this made a fantastic deep plum with gold and copper sheen.
Supernova - Magenta and burnt gold melange - i'm not a magenta girl, but this was really such a nice, bright, cool pink, i almost liked it!

I will reiterate, all can be applied subtly with a light hand (well, ok, the shimmer isn't truly subtle, but it ain't disco ball either), or more intensely if you like or need more color.

SKIN FINISHES
They were all so well-pigmented each could be used as a blush or bronzer, although they all had even more metallics in them than the blushes and e/s. I put them on a bit too strongly, so i need to go back and test them again with my own favorite brushes and a lighter hand. They were, of course, just gorgeous. None was a color i'd put all over my face, however. Even with all the metallic shimmer, there was no gritty chunky glitter, although there was a bit of pixie dust, so to speak.

Center of the Universe - Coral with gold shimmer - its color is somewhat reminiscent of other MSFs, such as Semi Precious Pink Quartz, which i have
Light Year - Peachy pink with gold shimmer - its color reminded me quite a bit of Blonde degradé recently re-promo'd in "Naturally", which i have
Star Wonder - Plummy pink with multi-dimensional pearlized pigments - swirled into a nice warm pink
Earthshine - Tarnished bronze with gold pearlized pigments and pink reflects - i wanted to love this one because it's sort of the big brother of Stratus. On me, however, it was quite dark.

Again, these were all so pigmented they could be used as blushes and bronzers. So i have to go back with my trusty 188 brush and try them all again.

CONCLUSION
To sum up, all are shimmery and even a bit glittery, with some fine fall-out (but it's really BEAUTIFUL fall-out!). All are just gorgeous colors, even the ones that were not my favorites - definitely mind-changing. And all deliver on their colors, no disappointments. Amazingly all deliver the hyped "multi-dimensionality".

Final question: How well do they hold up? Well, around 11:30 AM i put Center of the Universe on one cheek, and Star Wonder on the other, with Earthshine as a "contour" in the hollows of both cheeks and the colors are still going strong, so at least the face powders are long-lasting (i had on my skin care, sun screen, color-correcting primer, foundation, and setting powder before going into MAC). I had already done a fairly elaborate eye makeup before i got my local enabler's call, so i didn't test the e/s on my eyes (just the inside of my arm), but i can say that none were "chunky" and all were nicely smooth.

The lipstick i had put on at home had worn off and i'd forgotten to put them in my purse. And my naturally bluish lips didn't look so great with the warm MSFs i had on and with the bright orange and bronze eye i'd done. So i ended up trying on three of the lipsticks:

Cusp of Dawn - Beige pink (Lustre)
Pleasureseeker - Creamy peach (Glaze)
Venus - Sheer yellow pink with pearlized pigments (Lustre)

They were nice, typical good MAC quality, and the colors were good, basic, everyday sorts of colors. But, they were not remarkable. Then, again, how could they possibly compete with those Mineralize products!

I was planning on B2M for some of these lippies.
I sent my husband in to get an eyeshadow and the lady REFUSED to let him b2m without pans. She said that pans are back to mac-able so she wouldn't take the depotted shadows. WTF. I am so angry right now. I even got a transcript from online that proved I was right and emailed him to show them and they wouldn't budge. Oh, and this WAS A MANAGER. I called to clarify the situation and she would just talk to me like I was an idiot.

edit: I am so angry about what happened that I emailed MAC. I don't expect anything to happen but this is complete BS. And to think I was going to do all of my HC shopping for once ONLY through them! Arg.
