AwwwAll of that makes so much sense! You have been married longer than my time on this earth, amazing! I've been watching a bunch of say yes to the dress shows *sniffles*
I'm still making my way to yesterday's posts. That's how I am with my eye MU. I keep piling it on until it looks acceptable, better than taking it off & starting all over. Do u guys think that the only way pale beauties will be able to work Earthshine is as a countour or bronzer type product? I'm so bronzer phobic because I love & embrace my paleness. But honestly, I haven't given a fair trial run with bronzers. I just want to use it like HLs.I think the one with "strictly plutonic" was wearing Stratus... then I wore Earthshine as contour with Solar Ray... I wore Ring of Saturn blush yesterday -- you can probably find that if you go back a few pages. I just kinda wing it when it comes to eye makeup...i just add a little here, a little there...more over there... etc. I often used many many eyeshadows so half the time I couldnt recall exactly what was used. I don't even know if I could recreate a look exactly, lol....its more of a spontaneous thing for me....so I don't think I'm very good at tutorials, lol. Thanks for the tip Lisa! Is that the one u had on with ur dark ES (loved that look)
What??? R u joking? Y am I thinking ur barely 25????ahahaha. I'm almost 32. I was already out of high school before that came out, man.Now u make a valid point. Thanks to u I have Sisqo's 'Thong Song' stuck in my head, u probably have no clue what I'm referencing because u were a wee, wee one when this came out.
Tough question!I'm so torn between Earthshine and Stratus. I'm NW10-15 with lots of freckles, especially on my cheeks, they're almost completely covered with freckles, LOL. So do you think I'll be better off getting Stratus? I have to order online.
I think its mostly a contour for me...but i have also been using it for eyeshadow, lol.Do u guys think that the only way pale beauties will be able to work Earthshine is as a countour or bronzer type product? Nope. Not joking. I was born in 1980, lol. What??? R u joking? Y am I thinking ur barely 25????

My lips are sealed!Awwwyeah, I guess I'm old but just don't tell me because I don't know any better
I keep forgetting to watch that.
I ordered both online... I'm really pale, neutral undertones...generally i look better in cooler tones though.I'm so torn between Earthshine and Stratus. I'm NW10-15 with lots of freckles, especially on my cheeks, they're almost completely covered with freckles, LOL. So do you think I'll be better off getting Stratus? I have to order online.
So glad to hear ur thoughts on this Liba! Especially how ES didn't work with ur freckles. Lord knows I have thousands of them so now I'm a lot less worried about skipping this.I'd say if you are feeling skipper's remorse, don't get too worried. Ring of Saturn is gorgeous, but it looks like there will be similar colors in standard powder blush coming up in Style Seeker.
Our son was born in 1980Nope. Not joking. I was born in 1980, lol.
I LOVE What not to wear. It can be a hoot sometimes when they go through their personal clothesMy lips are sealed!
It's a cute show! Also love to watch what not to wear. Interesting fashion ideas for sure!
I never pay attention to my freckles when applying makeup, I'm not trying to cover them at all, but wouldn't mind if they were less visible either. They are not that dark at the moment, because I try to avoid the sun. I didn't plan how to use Earthshine yet, I was gonna play with it and see what works best. I'm really curious how it would work on me, it seems like such a unique product, I would like to give it a try. That's why I'm leaning towards getting it rather than Stratus. But Stratus does seem like the safer choice.Tough question!
On one hand, you're NW, so I bet Earthshine will compliment your skin tone better than mine (I'm looking VERY warm-toned lately). On the other hand, you're ordering online, so no swirl control at all for you. If you were hoping for something you could use as a bronzer, as well as blush and contour, Earthshine is the better choice, but if you were never intending to use it all over anyways, getting the MSF is less crucial. Lastly, depending on the color of your freckles and whether you want to cover them up or not, is going to influence whether ES is going to work, since it is quite pigmented - it's not very sheer and will need a super light touch and plenty of buffing.
Personally, since it comes down to it, I'd say get Stratus, since it's less changeable based on swirls (since it really only has 2 colors in the swirls, not 3 like ES), but only if you weren't looking for a deep bronzer too. It'll be less work. It's cheaper too, so less of a waste of money if it's not right.
Then again, the anti-enabler in me says neither of these products are so foolproof that they could be bought sight unseen. If you have makeup friends who might like them if you don't, then yeah go ahead. I just get sad when I see gorgeous LE items get bought and then returned or just sit around collecting dust, especially ones like these that will look absolutely stunning on the right people.
I'm addicted to almost every major reality show...I LOVE What not to wear. It can be a hoot sometimes when they go through their personal clothes
I am hopelessly addicted to Americas Next Top Model.....yeah, I know
I'm ashamed to say that I've even watched the bachelorman...remember back in the day before reality shows even existed? its so hard to remember what that was like, lol.
So glad you posted that and stopped me from buying it sight unseen. Usually my initial impulse (as in, that is gonna look like DIRT on my cheeks) is right. I will go see if they have any at teh counter at Macy's I can peak at. I may go back for Stratus, but I think I am just responding to all the excitement here for Earthshine when really it ain't gonna work on my pale flesh and would be a waste.I'd say if you are feeling skipper's remorse, don't get too worried. Ring of Saturn is gorgeous, but it looks like there will be similar colors in standard powder blush coming up in Style Seeker.
Venus is a beautiful color - you of all people shouldn't miss it. On my red lips, it looks like a very soft rose pink with a touch of a lavender/plum cast (but very subtle). It'll be a great year round color you'll get lots of use out of.
Invincible Light is actually one of the best of the MES. If you love Young Venus, but wish it was a little sheerer and less sparkly and a bit more natural colored, you will go crazy for Invincible Light. I've got prominent brow bones and can't wear a lot of different highlight colors without it looking aging and "fake", but Invincible Light is one of them!!! I get excited when I can find one that works on the brow for me as well as this one.
Earthshine is very problematic for light skin, especially if you can't pick your own swirls. Even if you can, you may need to find a burgundy swirl so tiny that they just don't have one with small enough swirls. It seems like some pale gals are making it work, but OMG it did NOT work for me at all (NC15, but very warm toned NC15 now that it's summer). The tester I was using didn't have much burgundy in it, either, especially compared to a lot of the unopened MSFs my MA showed me. Center of the Universe was way more flattering, as was Star Wonder. I think the main issue for me is the fact I have freckles that Earthshine managed to blend in with in just a way to make my skin look like one big dirty age spot. Stratus MB was a much better brown shade for my warm toned skin and was much easier to deal with as a contour color for me. Your mileage may vary, but if you're looking to save money here and there, you don't have to feel too bad about Earthshine in the long run. If you're light skinned but don't have freckles, it might be a lot easier to use too. Also will probably be better on NW than NC. I DID want to love it so bad! It's a beauty.
So overall, how about Venus and maybe Invincible Light if Young Venus isn't everything you need? Skipper's Remorse is no fun, but neither is over-spending on products that might be hard to use or dupeable.
A Sky with lots of the cobalt blue would look amazing with dark red hair!!!
If I was more of an NC20, I could maybe have gotten away with Earthshine, but wow it didn't work the magic on me. It's like a darker version of Lush Light Bronze, but also a touch cooler than LLB too. I cleansed my face three times and tried re-applying it with different brushes and from more targeted parts of the pan and just had to admit it wasn't working and looked dirty as all get out. Semi-Precious Goldstone, it is not, sad to say.Stratus MB was gorgeous, on the other hand - those undertones make all the difference!
If you want it to pull plummy and you're just wearing it as a blush or contour anyways, you should check out Stratus! Also, Star Wonder for plumminess too (with pink, of course). The burgundy swirl in ES looks more reddish in the pan than it does on the face. Try it before you buy it is a good motto with this one if you're fair!
Lol, I feel like the Doom Bringer about Earthshine, because it really is stupendously gorgeous, but it could wind up sitting gathering cobwebs for some gals, if you don't have a skin tone that's dark enough or cool enough. I AM glad to see MAC do some colors that aren't universally flattering, though, because more targeted colors always wind up looking extra-beautiful on the people who they're suited for; more than the colors that are trying to be all things to all people.
Yep. My birthday is in the middle of August, heh.I'm ashamed to say that I've even watched the bachelor
Were you by any chance born in August?
