MAC for Marilyn

I don't know if it's suitable for NC or not because I haven't tried it, but I say get it! That shade is discontinued. I ordered one from Nordstrom.com, and my order was cancelled because they no longer have it in stock (even though it says it's available on their website). I was able to order it from another website, and I'm hoping this order goes through.

Orlando Pro store is having the even September 21-23rd, I'll be there on the 22nd. The book the SA pulled out was PACKED with names lol. This collection is going to be hyped to death and it of course will sell out in 2 seconds flat.

I checked with a MAC store in my area and they don't have their Marilyn Monroe event dates confirmed just yet, but they are expecting to have one. They do have their dates confirmed for a Style Seeker event in August, so I signed up for that one. I'll keep checking back for Marilyn.

I agree with elegant, peachsuns. You'll be able to get Chanel. The way I figure it, one Chanel lipstick is like two MAC lipsticks. So if you can get MAC lipsticks, you can get Chanel. After my mini Chanel splurge, I'm happy that I still have time to save up for Marilyn. I'm expecting those reds to be beautiful as well.

My thoughts exactly! I was pretty shocked when I saw that the eyeshadows are $22 but then I saw that is says they're pressed pigments. I love pigments so that intrigues me.

Actually, this is good. I don't need to spend a ton of money on this collection -- especially since I'm not a fan of the packaging.

I love the look of the lipsticks, but I also think that they look similar to shades like Media and Diva that are available all the time... And that cost less than $26.50. Not sure of the exact price difference, but that would pull them almost equal with their parent company Estee Lauder, who also have a Fall collection with rich, dark lip shades. I notice that the nude lip colour is being introduced into the permanent line-up... So I guess you could just wait until it's available in regular packaging and save a few bucks, if you didn't want the special edition.

MAC just hit my NFW price point. I will not pay this kind of premium because the packaging has a Marilyn sticker. I it reminds me of Claire's tripling the price of a teeny bopper lipgloss because it has Justin Bieber on it. No.

Totally get this! It is a huge price increase, doubt it will really deter than many people from buying. I can only imagine what the ebay prices will be.

Thats not the real collection thats from a diffrent one. The lipsticks will each have a diffrent picture of her and her signiture.

If you mean the pictures that i posted, they are from the real collection. Person who posted this works for MAC those were the samples they got to test with.

If anything maybe they look like a "slap on job" bc they are just testers and TECHNICALLY we, the public are not supposed to see these yet (smile) but i'm for sure they will clean them up before the collection comes out.

Some people remember Marilyn for being "raunchy" but i don't think they would do her that way with honoring her with this collection, lol.

Time will tell.

October 4th is the date, I think I am getting more excited now seeing the lipsticks even though the price increase is a bit much. I definitely need to swatch Media and Diva to make sure they aren't dupes.

OMG!!! Thank you katelyn1223!! The lipsticks look amazing and I love the photo of Marilyn. I'm in love with Love Goddess. Deeply Adored looks like a nice goth color and I need that. I also want Charmed I'm Sure. Pure Zen looks amazing also, but not sure if I want it from the Marilyn collection or just wait since it's going to be permanent. I can take my time with it.

Definitely not loving the price increase. $22 for the eyeshadows?? I'm totally skipping those. Might grab a lipstick or two, but that'll be it.
