Ouch just looked up the normal price, they could be as much as a MSF!
Yes, I was thinking in the $30 range.

Well, depending on the prices & swatches. I've narrowed down my haul. I'm thinking three lipsticks, one e/s (maybe two depending) and the beauty powder. I may add a few more items. It all depends. I am definitely getting at least the three lovely reddish lippies though.

The eyeshadows are pressed pigments, and the price list says US/CAD.

Thank you, CartoonChic (BTW, I love your user name. LOL)! A girl can dream, right?

If this collection will not eat my wallet, then I might have a chance for Chanel?

Lol, thanks. That's essentially how I describe my sense of fashion. Cartoony, bright, and colorful.

Right! Now I hope that when I go to the event these don't do anything for me, otherwise my wallet is going to pitch a fit!

I'm still going to get all of the lipsticks except Pure Zen since it will be permanent. And as I learned with Ruffian Naked, it's better for me to swatch nudes in person. That shade is a ghastly mess on me. Nudes are just too risky for me to order online. But if I can go to a Marilyn event, I hope to see everything before it goes online. I planned to BU the lipsticks, but I'm no longer sure if they're too close to shades in the permanent line. I still want the beauty powder. I wanted all of the eye shadows before they were priced at $22.50. Now I'm not so sure. Sigh, I'm just going to get the lip pencils now while they're still $14. I don't have any of those colors yet and was waiting to see the packaging. But seeing the $16.50 price made my decision easy.

Can someone please explain what a pressed pigment is? How is that different than a regular eye shadow?

Not only does the packaging have to be amazing (much more so than the prototypes (?) we've seen, but the shades have to be REALLY FLATTERING on me in order for me to shell out that much money on this collection. I love Marilyn, but I really need to take a pause and reevaluate my wants vs need. Wouldn't it be nice if money grew on trees?

When I saw the HUGE price increase for the shadows, I almost decided to pass altogether. BUT, if they ARE in fact pressed pigments in the larger pots, then the price increase doesn't really seem too bad at all for special packaging. (reference: PLW eyeshadows are $20) Now I just need to decide if the special packaging and product inside are special enough to pay it! Let the MAC new product formula games begin...

As a MAC red lip lover, I am a bit disappointed with these l/s shades. Can't wait to see swatches of the other products.

I planned on getting all the eye shadows but by their descriptions I'm sure my SA can help me dupe them with regular or Pro longwear shadows, she's great at that. And, do I really need another "pale champagne beige?"

I had been wanting all 4 eyeshadows as it said they were Veluxe Pearl, but I think I'll have to wait for swatches now due to the price. Other than those, I'll just get one of the lipsticks (Love Goddess - the other reds look too dark for me), the beauty powder and 1 or both blushes. If I get Pure Zen it will be in regular packaging to save money.

HaHaHAAAA!! LOVE this! I said the exact same thing to myself! I'll STILL probably end up with it! When you look at my collection, you can definitely see a trend... I always seem to gravitate towards the same colors! The last year or so, I've really tried to force myself out of my comfort zone and expand my collection. "Pale Champagne Beige" doesn't fit into that plan!

I want it for the special packaging. And as it will become perm, I know the formula will be awesome! But you are right, better swatch nudes in person.

What were the Canadian prices for Venomous Villains?

If the e/s is a pressed pigment and in a larger pan, then I have no problem paying more since we get a product that is more expensive and weighs more than a regular e/s! I think I'll still only get the 2 items from my original list - Preferred Blonde and the b/p

I believe most things were $1-$2 above normal. It was nominally more, like they had passed on the licensing fee with very little extra markup. I remember being surprised when they started charging extra for special packaging, because the upcharge was basically the same as what the charged for the licensed Disney stuff.
