I think I'm going to try to find an Earthshine that is mostly gold...I really love the gold part of it, might also try to find a Magnetic Attraction with more yellow and a Neo Nebula with more pink...then I can be done with this collection.

I went back to Mac today and decided to get Earthshine and Magnetic Attraction. I asked for an Earthshine with very little brown/burgundy. Luckily they had one with a lot of gold, which from the swatches looks really nice. Without so much brown it looks less muddy. I noticed at my counter that this was the MSF that was least sold . Center of the Universe was the one that was sold out. Then I asked for Magnetic Attraction Eyeshadow. I was trying to get something with a good amount of yellow. I was able to get the last one! Beat the girl after me by 2 secs lol. It is such a beautiful color. I can't believe I almost skipped out.

So my haul now looks something like this....

All 4 MSF's
1 MB- supernova
1 ME- Magnetic Attraction
1 Volcanic Ash

Looking still for recommendations, I liked Neo Nebula, Universal Appeal, and Aurora. I still need to be convinced a little more on those to go back and get them though lol.

You'll be in heaven with MES if this is what you like. You will always get a subtle, sophisticated color effect, rather than super bright and punchy. Even the brighter colors have a way of blending with your skin tone and reflecting it, rather than just laying on top, covering everything else that's there.

THIS is why I adore MES! Sometimes I wear a look with multiple e/s, but my preferred (quick!) method when getting ready early in the morning is just to apply a MES wet all over the lid with a paintpot underneath. It looks like you have put in a lot more effort to achieve the multidimensional effect than you have, and is very fast and easy! I also really like the Extra Dimension e/s for this :)

Thanks liba for summing that up very eloquently!

Completely agree!!! Those are my favorite textures ever of eyeshadow. I hardly ever reach for my others except if I go for a matte brow highlight or crease color.

I wonder how much burgundy is in your Earthshine? My first one looks like that.
I just looked at mine again. It is about 1/3 Burgundy. There is a decent sized blob of it that I could dip into for eyeshadow (can't wait to try this with Fix+ on eyes!). I am NW 25 with Auburn hair. I think the burgundy is what makes this MSF special. I have used mine once so far...used a fan brush (Jane Iredale), and I didn't feel like it looked too overpowering. I wore it over Stratus. This combo is perfect for fall!

My large pan MAC e/s get a lot more use than my regular ones, that's for sure! With that in mind, I knew this collection was going to make my bank account cry haha!

I just checked that Lush Ocean Salt out on the website...for face! I was thinking it was a body scrub. Clarisonic just saved me another $20! Now I can buy a new eyeshadow!

Has that Lush Ocean Salt ad been calling anyone else's name?
Love the smell, hate the chunks it leaves in the shower. NO way would I use it on my face, the chunks will rip out flesh! It is a nice body smoother if you don't mind waiting 2-3 weeks for delivery and paying P&P (from Canada) unless there is a store near you...

So I have a huge question, I think I'm going to give in and get 3 MES but don't know which I should get. I love bright colors but don't know which of these are unique enough to add to my collection. So if you guys can only have 3 of these which 3 would you pick??
Totally random but I saw you post about living in the DC area and I got really excited because even though I'm from TX I go to school in DC so I now I know a fellow Specktrette in the area!

Hi everyone...this is the most popular thread, so that is why I'm posting this here. We have some active members or people with family & friends in Colorado & probably a few lurkers. My hope is that no one is affected by the senseless, horrible shooting during the midnight showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises'. My thoughts are with anyone who is suffering or somehow touched by this tragedy. Days like these are reminders that we need to hug and keep our family, friends, children & furbabies a little closer. Much love to my fellow Specktraettes.

Just caved in and ordered Stratus. Hopefully it'll be a nice one. It will be the first I didn't hand pick...

Even though I found earthshine crappy on me in the store, seeing all the raves makes me doubt. So I told myself Stratus is the better version of ES for little old NC 15 me. Also have an itch for the lipsticks. Lustres are really not my favorite formula. I prefer Amplified Creme, Cremesheen, Matte or Satin. Still, a little voice keeps telling me to buy Fire Sign and Venus. FS seems to resemble VG Cyndi a lot, which I have rarely worn so far. I just read that Venus reminds a lot of Bombshell, apart from the finish.

By all means, Liba, (or anybody else) just tell me it is so, so that I can stop buying from this collection. No more enabling for me por favor

. (And now I just must stop reading this thread, because I am also enabling myself, justifying another purchase... sigh...)

One of these days there will be a new wing in the Betty Ford Clinic, for make up junkies. Geez...

Yeah,

I can see it now.

Our addictions became so bad we used our mortgage or rent money to purchase makeup. Thus we got put out of our homes.

So now we are on the mean unforgiving streets with our train cases full of lipsticks, e/s, blushers and brushes.

Sad.
