Price Increase

I was just looking at sephora site and decided to go check out the mac website and noticed that the prices on some things increased. What do you guys think about it?

It doesn't come as a surprise. MAC increases prices twice per year (depending on the product category), usually in Jan/Feb and in July/August.

I planned ahead and ordered my must-have items in mid-July to save a few bucks.

Like Mac-Guy said, not too surprised (but definitely annoyed). It was expected, so I stocked on up some perm items in June/July as well.

I haven't been on the MAC site yet. Which items went up? I'm assuming shadows and lippies?

Honestly I don't know how they get away with 2x a year price increases in this economy.

The only ones I noticed were the lipsticks that are $15 & the shadow pans are $12

I agree. I complain about it every single time, but price increases have not stopped me from buying anything. Unless a large chunk of their consumer base takes a stand, starts voting with their dollars and STOPS buying MAC, they will get away with it.

MAC hasn't peaked yet, so I don't think the price increases will stop any time soon.

One day we will look back to the good ol' days where a lippie was only 20 bucks (and we probably have to pay $30 for it).

Weren't the n/p $16 for the past six months? Or are you referring to the price increase earlier this year?

Earlier this year, as I wanted to get a few of the Fashion Sets and was a bit disappointed. Considering they don't perform as well as Illamasqua (my favorite nail lacquer by far) I haven't gotten any polishes this year at all.
