MAC for Marilyn

Lippies (standard) are €18/$23 in Holland, I hate the price differences.

Me too. I didn't mind years ago when the exchange rate explained most of it, but that hasn't been the case for a very long time.

$17 for a dupable lipstick with LE packaging I don't even like?! Thanks, but no thanks.

A big fat pass for me. I love Marilyn, but I can collect other Marilyn inspired items.

I feel the same about the new pricing. The lipsticks really has to WOW me. So far I'm limiting myself to 2 lipsticks if the color is unique enough to justify spending that much on them if not it's a PASS.

I wouldn't have been surprised to see even higher prices. The lippies in the VV collection were already $15.50.

17 bucks doesn't seem to be that far away. I fear for the couture collection though. If I remember correctly, I paid $22 for l/s and l/g.

MAC is definitely gearing up for high end prices in the foreseeable future.

After seeing the prices, my list has once again dropped down to a bu of SI and the beauty powder.

I am not a fan of the packaging, and the colors just don't wow me. The es look rather meh. Maybe swatches will change my mind. I like the red lippies but not for $17.

Well, if MAC is going to start ramping up the prices they better start ramping up the product quality too! There have been SEVERAL collections that I have totally skipped because the pigmentation was bad/applied unevenly/repromoting the same light pink lipglass/showstopper eyeshadow. If they start making products that are worth the price increase I will stay a customer, otherwise I'll likely just go with my high end products because at least I'll be getting the quality.

Try $36 for Australia.... I would love a $17 lippy
WOW, that price literally makes me queasy. There is no way I would be able to spend that, I have a hard time paying that much for Guerlain RA's which are my absolute favorite lipstick formula.

My list is down to just the Beauty Powder, I think. I guess I have to wait to see the final price list though. But personally, the packaging isn't a draw for me, so unless the colors are out of this world amazing, just the one item to haul.

I think I'm really going to like the lipstick shades and don't want to pass them up. MAC lipstick is currently $15. I can deal with a $2 increase for special packaging, even if the packaging isn't as great as it could be. I still think $1 is for the picture and the other $1 is for the "satin" packaging. I'm guessing that they may have given the packaging some sort of smooth, satin texture.

What date is this coming out? I'm way out of the MAC loop. The packaging is OK, but not special enough to justify the stupid price hikes!
Sadly I want all or most of the lipsticks, all the shadows, both blushes. Maybe the beauty powder.$$$$$$$$$. Not happy I like this much stuff, I hope
I dislike most of the swatches.

I hope I don't like swatches too lol. I've felt that way about a lot of collections lately as funds are tight. I'm hoping it will just come down to a lippy, a shadow, and the BP for me.

They're already $18 for standard lippies here. Makes a lot of sense with the Canadian dollar trading above USD. I'm not willing to pay $28 for MAC shadows. I can buy high end brands for about that. It's clear that they're trying to move upmarket, but I'm sure I'm not the only one increasingly just turning to the higher cost alternative in the first place since the difference isn't that material and I know I won't have to jump through hoops (how many had to site stalk and wait up until ridiculous hours to get BR items?!) to be able to buy a new collection (without even being able to swatch it in person). I've been buying MAC since the 90s (sometimes more heavily than others), but it's never been this insane. I'm tired of the limited quality LE nonsense. Launch fewer collections and make enough to last a reasonable period of time (read: not 30 lippies for Canada online store).
I won't be paying that much for MAC shadows either. The price increase without the quality changes is crazy; especially when there are brands like Inglot and OCC that are providing better products at lower prices. Then there is MUFE, awesome products, very few misses compared to MAC releasing tons of products a year that are either dupe-able or bad quality.

I'm not in Canada, but I agree. Makes me want to get to know the perm gems instead.
