MAC Early Buzz - news on products for 2012

I also have Cunning, Prince Noir and Faultlessly F/W. I missed out on Musky Amethyst & Fervent. I love Cunning and Prince Noir

. Faultlessly F/W I had hoped would be easier to apply and the color is just way too dark for me (and that is saying something cause I love me some vampy dark purple colors). I have to use a lighter lippie underneath to ease the color. I haven't worn it in quite some time. Maybe I need to give it another chance. I am going to start pulling out all my vampy Fall/Winter shades soon anyhow.

Potent Fig is my favorite dark mega-purple lippie, but yeah, not so easy to apply evenly, either.

I'm surprised you never got Musky Amethyst - it's so versatile, since you can apply it sheerly or build up the color. Most wearable vampy lip color I own!

With Potent Fig, you basically have to apply a very thin layer and then sit there with your mouth literally hanging open until it sets, rinse and repeat. If you don't, it just disappears around the inner mouth line the instant your lips even lightly touch. It's kind of retarded to sit there like this, because it can take a good 15 seconds to really set up, but if you are willing to, you'll get an even application that will last and stay looking good for a few hours and allow you to reapply on the go and still have it look even. Blotting doesn't work as well as the jaw-hang, sorry to say.

I will have to say that one thing I'm going to test next time I wear it is to use that very dark cool brown lip pencil that came out earlier this year underneath, since that's the only shade that's cool enough not to add red to the purple and ruin the gorgeous blue cast. I'm not too keen on lip pencils with mattenes, but it might help with the recalcitrant Potent Fig, that lil rascal!

As for repromoting Musky Amethyst, it seems like Fall 2012 is more about red lips and surprising bright lips, than the standard vampy dark lip. Maybe as a contrast, vampy lips will be back in for next summer, in sheer-ish formulas like MA!! The fickle ways of fashion.......

If it makes you feel any better, Cunning and Musky Amythest are VERY close. I also find it dries my lips more than other Mac lipsticks. It is a nice shade, though.

Thank you katred. When I googled Musky Amethyst I thought it looked similar to one or two of my other billions of lipsticks I have. I would have preferred a more purple shade for the Musky Amethyst to be honest. I do love Cunning and Kittenish. I wish we would get another Feline collection. I loved that collection so much. Meow.

To me, Cunning is more purple whereas Murky Amythest is more garnet. MA is more frost thank Cunning. They are both great colors! I didn't get Kittenish, but I feel like we will see it again with a different name soon.

Can i hope and pray the the late palette will work for me Full coverage foundation palettes. O_O Want to check them out in the Pro Toronto Store for sure now when I visit a friend in October.

Them seem to all have a colour corrector in a pink/peach tone for dark circles/spots as well! being so stupidly pale I'm always on the hunt for a proper foundation. it doesn't help that I also have a olive tone as well but I learn to use cool based setting powder to correct for to much warmth in foundations.
