I'm conflicted. The darkest purple I had is odyssey .. I rarely wear it, but when I do I kinda like it .. hmmm

Filters probably don't help with showing us the true colour though

I don't get it, it looks so dark in the tube but not on any lips we've seen it on lol

The lippie looks very grey here. Maybe she put it on very lightly. I like the grey, but I want it a tad darker with the grey.

It looks so lovely and dark here. I really want to know what shade that is on the upper left. The purple lipliner. I need something like that.

I think the color changes of this lipstick depends on the lightening and if it has a filter on it...

Also for me I have to remember Azealia's natural lip color and her skin tone is different than mine and it looks stunning on her... I don't know if it will on me.

I'm NC20 with lightish pigmentation that is more rosy-red undertone ... So I'm not sure... I do think after awhile with this finish you can obtain a true color ..

Hmmm I'm kinda eyeing the Chanel one...

I will have to see it on temptalia or allura beauty ... Or someone closer to my complexion to see... IDK

I want it, but I don't want to hassle with returns lol

I love me some blue toned purples as well as some grey toned ones. On the Mac website it appears quite dark also. I can't wait until someone here receives it and posts swatches. I am still waiting for my shipping notice. Grrrrr.

Yes... In this picture, not sure if it has a filter on it, since it is instagram... But it is bringing out a slight blue tone.

Sorry ButterflyDior, I saw this after the previous post. My computer is running very weird today. I'm lighter than you and usually dark lipsticks look pretty good on me. At least in my opinion. You can always blot it or mix it with a lighter shade if you feel it's too dark for you. I just pre-ordered the Chanel one last night. I'm a very naughty naughty girl.

I think they wanted us to meet twice the free shipping threshold. Oh well, MAC knows how to play us.

True... I could blot it. I just tried on this discontinued Chanel Hydrabase shade in Fantastic Plum. It is a midtone plum with a red undertone. It is buildable so in darker light it looks like a dark purple in person it is more midtone deep reddish plum. I am wondering if it is similar to the new chanel one... hmmm... I need swatches lol .

Posted hand swatch and indoor and outdoor light photos of the Chanel Hydrabase lipstick in the tube in the Chanel thread under product swatches.

I can't wait to wear this! In summer I'm all about bright colors and neons and in fall im all rock star goth mix hahaha I'm weird. Its funny sometimes when I meet a new person and then they meet me after a while, they are like oh I didnt recognize you or...are you in another phase? and it's like... nah....i'm just weird like that. My boyfriend lives with me and he still sometimes looks at me like....really, Piar....another style?

I just ordered this as well. For some reason I thought I would be sold out by now. Added Mehr to my basket since I was already on the site and used THE212 to get free shipping. Not bad at all.

Nightmoth is the lip pencil I've used for years for all my dark lipsticks, but I'm excited to break out Just My Type - that super dark brown lp from Tour de Fabulous for YR. Unlike Nightmoth, it won't add red undertones. It ought to keep the coolness in the shade and not cancel out any blue tones. If YR's texture is right, I do like wearing really dark lippies without a liner too - it gives a deconstructed look - just put on a thin layer, blot, then add another with a lip brush.
