I'm going to a Marilyn event Sept 24th. I have no idea what I'm going to get. Nothing really excites me based on descriptions. I need swatches.
No nuts here! I can totally see it!Maybe I am a nut, but based on the swatches linked on pg 45 or so, the shadows look just like the pressed pigments. Anyone else?
CRAP!!!No nuts here! I can totally see it!
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I see why the swatches we've seen are so so and glittery. Money saved for me.NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are pressed pigments just like the one from F&B as sure as I am sitting here. I wish they were regular VP.I thought they were Veluxe Pearls?
Where does it say that? I'm confused on how it says Veluxe Pearl next to it in that picture...They are pressed pigments just like the one from F&B as sure as I am sitting here. I wish they were regular VP.
IDK either but I am sooo disappointed!seems kinda contradictory though... how can it be a veluxe pearl eyeshadow and also a pressed pigment? its strange how it says that in the description above and then next to the eyeshadow it says veluxe pearl... i mean, I have some of each...and they're not really the same at all, so I'm confused.
Doesn't make sense, I guess they figured let's name it something close to what we already make because glitter bomb doesn't sound like a great finish! All the swatches of the shadows seem really glittery and kinda lacking in pigmentation, not what a normal VP looks like.seems kinda contradictory though... how can it be a veluxe pearl eyeshadow and also a pressed pigment? its strange how it says that in the description above and then next to the eyeshadow it says veluxe pearl... i mean, I have some of each...and they're not really the same at all, so I'm confused.
I love VP so I am good either way. HTM looks beautiful in the swatch, a silvery white. Reminded me of Frost piggie...in pan form.I heard two different things about the shadows at my MAC store yesterday too. One guy was positive they were pressed pigments, but then we looked in the book and it said VPs.
I'm sorry those pressed pigments are getting such a bad rap, because they are absolutely gorgeous! They definitely have large clear glitter in them, but I didn't have fall-out issues on application with them. I didn't use a brush though....my MA suggested applying with a finger, so we scooped out a teeny bit with a spatula and then patted it into the lid, where it just melted into the skin in the most beautiful way. Definitely not good glitter for the cheeks, but really lovely for the shoulders and decolletage for a night out. I'm actually not interested in the Marilyn shadows if they're VPs, but if they're pressed pigments, I will probably buy a couple.
