Maybe she's sick of writing reviews for all the MAC collections? It's a lot of work. I only buy like 4-5 things from a collection and that's enough work for me, I would never want to review every single thing, I think I would go crazy! And people want her to write all the reviews in 24 hours, that's just crazy!

If it was because it would have been rated F too, then I think she should have wrote the reviews. I don't know about everyone else, but when I search for reviews I like to read the bad ones even more than the good reviews, so I know what can be wrong for some persons and if it will bother me too. I know many bloggers just don't write reviews for the bad products, I don't like that. I wanna know if it's bad!

(I have a feeling my english is pretty bad today hahah)

As she is not a fan of glitter, it's a wise decision not to review the pressed piggies. Why review a product that you know you won't like anyway?! Good for her that she passed.
she doesnt like MES either and always give them bad grades. she should stop reviewing those also and just swatch it?

I'm thinking she's trying to figure out numerous ways to work with the pressed pigments before she flat out gives it an F, only guessing. I wish she would put up the review nonetheless I'm interested to see what she said about it.

Truth. We all love MAC, but I recognize that they put out an insane amount of products. I'd get tired of buying 100% of everything launched and then reviewing it too. It also limits how many other lines or products that can be reviewed. I'm really pleased that she's reviewing NARS as well now.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd bet that she's trying to work with the products before posting a review. I'd be surprised if she didn't rate these. Edit: Yup. From Facebook:

Temptalia LOL! I'm not ready to review those yet because I'm still trying to figure how one might use them... Have been chatting with Dustin Hunter about them, too!

I don't see why somebody should stop reviewing bad products simply because they are bad products. I'm sure people would like to know that the product sucks instead of buying it blindly and wasting money. And well...this collection and Office Hours were just full of bad products. MAC has completely stopped trying lately...I'm just glad they are going to be doing so much better for the holiday collection. That collection will have me broke, so I'm a bit thankful that most of their other collections have been garbage lately, lol.

I appreciate bad as well as good reviews on products. I think she gives both good and bad marks to MAC (as well as other companies). I may not always agree with a given blogger and it helps to understand their preferences, but in this particular case I agree. I can't say that my sole MES is a fave. I don't think I'd buy another myself; it just doesn't deliver the pigmentation and wear I prefer. While I'm not a fan, that doesn't mean that I don't recognize that others love them. I've seen her acknowledge that she doesn't care for a certain product line but knows others do. I'd hope that any blogger realizes that others may feel differently about a product than they themselves do.

Personally, I'd pass on buying and reviewing products I know I won't like because I only want to own what I'll wear.

I didn't buy anything from either collection either, but I wouldn't say that they're garbage. They just aren't what I like. That doesn't mean others aren't loving them to pieces. I swatched three or four blush; Stubborn and Whole Lotta Love had amazing pigmentation even if they weren't colours I'd wear. I'm sure that some won't care for the holiday collection. I've got a couple of purchases planned. So be it, to each his/her own, etc.

We all have personal preferences, but they are just that. There's a difference between an opinion and a fact.

Been having the impression too lately that she isn't that eager anymore to review MAC products .. Oh well ..

It does suck because even though I do not always agree with the rating, she does do good swatches and was willing to do the swatches on the lips of the products, which is why I always went to her site first. And, she does a good job of comparing to dupes. On the other hand, if MAC is not sending her samples and she has to buy on her own, I would not blame her for skipping on some of these collections as they are many other companies out there doing seasonal launches and buying a whole collection is quite expensive. MAC has lost out on a lot of free publicity if they stopped sending T samples. It could just be boredom, it is easy to get burnt out on a company when there are so many repromotions and keeping up with MAC collections is exhausting if the thrill is gone. Thank goodness for all the wonderful folks on Specktra keeping us up to date!!!

I went to check out the 215 today. I was disappointed that the one in the display was definitely scratchy; it almost felt like the tips weren't entirely smooth. Too bad; I liked the shape. I could see what Dustin meant; I wonder if they had a production issue since others have had no problems with theirs. This almost felt like the tips were a tiny bit frizzy.

I didn't buy the other brush since I wouldn't use it, but it was both soft and dense.

What would the 163 be used for?
to place the contour line exactly where you want it and then you can blend it with another brush. i dont even do contouring but that's what i absorbed from mac-guys posts and the ones of other members.
hmm.gif
is that what you were asking???

I think that with Office Hours when the only blush that even showed up on me was Stubborn (and I'm pretty much ghostly white) that definitely indicates bad quality, same with the eyeshadows, no pigment at all, even with a good base. The bad quality annoys me even more considering that they are permanent and I could think of at least 100 other MAC products that should have been made permanent over those. Though with this collection, I just can't figure out what I'd do with the stuff. I'm a glitter lover...but those huge chunks of glitter just confuse me. The creams don't seem so bad, though they should have made more colors because none of them worked with my skintone.

I swatched several of the blushes last night and had no issues with pigmentation. It's possible that the blushes you tried may have had a thin layer of residue (dirt/oil) due to people swatching them with their fingers/dirty brushes. I would have been tempted to buy several of them if I wasn't saving for Marilyn and Glamour Daze.

Plus, I wouldn't say that MAC has stopped trying lately (referencing something you said upthread)- Naturally, Reel Sexy, Extra Dimension, Shop/Cook MAC, Vera, Hey Sailor, Heavenly Creatures and Style Seeker all produced winning items for me this year, some of them even HG status. I think that compared to previous years, the quality of MAC products this year has been a lot more stellar across the board. My recent experience with MAC has been a lot more positive than negative and that's why I'm back.

GETTING BACK ON TOPIC - just realized I stopped by the store and forgot to try out the creams! Guess I'm heading back this week. Hopefully I can pry more GD info out of them!

I wasnt going to at first, because I was alarmed by the amount of glitter especially in the lighter colours.

But the more I think about it, I actually really like the Deeply Dashing which I dont normally go for. I like the rich chocolate colour so I am getting that today.
Did you get any of them?

Looks like Facebook has given the answer...Temptalia has just posted a picture of an F review asking people to guess which product. And the description in the picture definitely fits the pressed pigments and that is what people on there are guessing it to be.

They were all new, but it seems that a lot of people are having trouble with the pigmentation of them.

Starting to think she hates MAC lol.
I've been getting that vibe from her for almost a year already. Oh well... Good thing we have Specktra with lots of lovely people who post great swatches and reviews.

Not sure if I mentioned it already, but I ended up returning the 215. Maybe it's a good brush for a certain purpose that I couldn't figure out, but for me personally it wasn't worth the money.

Don't forget Tres Cheek, which was the beginning of my blush obsession. Before that I had two. Now...er....two dozenish?
