Yup, that about settles it. Quad comes home. I actually don't have any of the dupes she mentions for any of the colours and they're the sort of shades I love.
I love these shades too :) Can't wait to purchase another Guerlain quad! I'm so enjoying Les Fauves

That quad is very tempting. I love ALL of the colors and they are ones I would use, in heavy rotation. Now where to find the cash.

I caved and got the Guerlain Emilio Pucci Perles d'Azur at sephora this summer - it has some aqua colored perles in it, along with the more usual pink, beige, white gold, and ivory.

And I love the scent of all the Meteorites - it's violet, which is light and sweet. A lot of younger women dislike it, but i love inhaling that classic antique fragrance. I guess some might call it "old lady", but i think it's old fashioned in a very lovely way.

With Meteorites the sheen is meant to be subtle. Often i read women complaining that they can't see it after they put it on. But it really is there. Meteorites is meant as a finishing powder that adds glow to your face, rather than a highlighter that makes one area stand out shiney.

Shalimar is a lovely "darker" scent as well. A little goes a long way!
Shalimar has been my signature scent since i absconded with it from my mother's room when i was in high school in the early 1960s. She didn't wear it - she didn't like oriental scents - it had been a gift from her father. I finally used up the whole bottle of parfum, and it seems to me the new versions - mostly outliers - barely smell like Shalimar at all. And the true parfum is so expensive, i haven't replaced it yet, sadly.

Plus I've been trying to break myself out of orientals - that's the fragrance category i tend to love the best - and try new things. I've found some i like a lot, but nothing feels as warm and embracing as Shalimar.

I also love chypres. There is a double problem with chypres these days and the basic formulae of so many classics have had to be altered. 1. oak moss was a typical basenote in classic chypres, and so much of it was contaminated with fallout from Chernobyl, so it was unobtainable from many old sources; 2. with new laws in the EU regarding fragrance ingredients related to allergies and skin sensitivity, many typical fragrance notes have been banned and oak moss was among them. If you love chypres, try to find vintage bottles.

I stopped by Shoppers Drug Mart this morning and they have the new Parure De Lumiere foundations.

Looks like it comes in two formulas - one in a jar and the other in the standard Guerlain foundation bottle. I didn't have time to try them out, but I'm assuming the jar one is more cream-like in texture. This foundation is supposed to offer light to medium coverage with a radiant finish.

The best part for me is that the jar formula came in 01 (which I find equivalent to NC15-20). So I will be picking up one of these in the next few weeks!

Great info. TY! please let us know how you like it.
LdP is my HG foundation. I have the Paure Gold and it is a little too much coverage, but I LOVE the glow from LdP and it covers so well w/o being cakey.
i hope they never dc it!

SO HAPPY!!!!!!! I have to try this out. I only ever bought a Guerlain foundation once, but I had to admit it was too dark for me... I've never been able to find a proper match because, as I keep saying, the lightest shades haven't been available up here. Could it be that SDM have finally heard my whining?

Darn it! I knew I should have stayed out of this thread. I am a Meteorites hoarder. Any idea on the US release date of the holiday collection?

Sephora told me mid-october but it depends on the stores ( we have around 6 Sephora stores here ), as Guerlain belongs to LVMH ( along with Dior and Sephora itself ) I think collections are to to be launched around october the 15th ( ? I don't know how it works for the US though, you often get Chanel before us so.. ).
This Holiday collection is a bit disappointing to me, it looks like the Holiday 2011. Of course Vol de Nuit is not Liu, Liu looks more classy on the whole.
I love Guerlain for the Rouges Automatiques, the Voilettes powder or other beautiful items ( such as the blush duo which is really pretty and subtle ), I often pass the Holiday collections though. The Météorites are great of course, mythical all over the world !
