MAC for Marilyn

I find Smut to be a very versatile color, so there are LOTS of beautiful combos. One of my fave looks is to use a light color on the inner part of the lid (anything like Naked Lunch, Vanilla, Vex, etc), Satin Taupe in the center of the lid (another fave e/s of mine), and Smut on the outside corner and into the crease and smoke it out. For a little more drama, you can also use Smut on the lower lash line and smudge it. Just one of many possibilities!

Thank you both - I think Smut looks like a great option for me. I was toying with getting a black e/s to deepen looks, but I think this will be much better. Showgirl is off my list.

thanks. i don't like how she said unless you are super pale or light that the beauty powder and blushes wont work even as a highligter. when i saw the blushes they seem pigmented enough to show up on darker skins so idk what shes talking about lol. and as for the beauty powder being used as a highlighter im pretty sure it will work lol

Its true though about the blushes. Im NC35 and they didnt show up on me. The BP is a great highlighter though.

For me, it would be formula. I can not wear Rocker well b/c it dries out my lips and shrivels them. I am hoping the new one is the new formula which I do well with.

I got Rocker (and a BU of it) from the By Request collection, and I found I have the same problem. I LOVE the color, but it dries and shrivels my lips like crazy, and I don't usually have that problem! So now of course, I'm thinking Deeply Adored will be a better option, since none of the other mattes I've bought lately have been drying on me. Maybe the glitter in Rocker is the culprit? But the real question is: Since I know I'll love the color and don't have many deep red lippies, do I get a BU of DA and trust that it won't dry out my lips like Rocker? Or do I just get one DA so that I don't end up with a BU I might never even use (which is probably what will happen with my Rocker BU). Decision, decisions!!!

I'm pretty sure that there is no different stock for Pros and regulars. They might restock, but it is still the same inventory. Logistically, it would be very challenging to handle two different inventories for just one collection. I also don't think there will be larger quantities just because it is Marilyn. If anything, the quantities might be smaller to keep up the hype. Large quantities = Less hype (and then people move on to other collections or even brands).

Having said that (and like others mentioned), there is hope: the MAC online store is not the only option out there. Go to your local stores/counter or keep an eye on Macy's & Co. I hope everybody gets what they want from this collection.

When Nordstrom has their anniversary sale they hold some stock back for the non-cardholders. I would assume MAC is able to pull off something similar in the preliminary release days for the Pro vs. non-Pro.

I didn't really read lol I was interested in pics only.. but I agree with you. I've seen a tutorial of a woman of colour pulling of a white(!!!) highlighter and it looked great on her don't see a problem with BP wprking on darker skin tones either

Worse comes to worse sell your Rocker b/u here on specktra and get 2 DA's. If that one is indeed too drying on you then sell that b/u as well. I'm sorry your lips don't like Rocker. I wore it the other day and absolutely loved it. It also stayed around for a very long time. I didn't find it to bother my lips. I did feel the glitter when applying and it seemed drier when I put it on but once on it was like I wasn't wearing anything. I hope DA will work for you so you can enjoy a dark red w/o paying for it later.

hmmm thats odd. shontay is darker than you and she bought one of the blushes because she liked the way it looked on her. did you put it on with a brush or was it just like a finger swatch? now im curious lol because when i swatched it on the back of my hand the color showed up and im darker than you too.

The MUA applied it on me w/ a 168. I could barely tell I had blush on.

I have Pure Zen in the regular packaging and I really like it. Its such a pretty color. I plan to oder one from the marilyn collection for mother since she is only comfortable in those sort of shades. I'm glad it doesnt seem to be selling out as fast. One less thing to worry about. My list as of now is LG x2 PZ, TPC, and Legendary. I can't seem to make up my mind on the shadows so I'll probably pass on those.
