Personal safety always comes first and I'm not one for confrontation at all. But to be honest here, I would go to the person's apt. Today is Friday and UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday. I wouldn't want to wait over the weekend and let more time pass. I would politely go over there and see what's going on. If the person comes across as rude or if there are any problems, then I would leave. It could all be a simple misunderstanding, and I would rather find out what's going on sooner rather than later. That's just my take on it.
Yeah, it wasn't technicalytheir fault. I'd just go over there and sweetly tell them what happened. They probably don't know how to find you.

That was a big mess to get your lipsticks, but I'm happy that you got them. For that reason, I would say it was worth it. Whether or not to do it again, now that's another issue.
Pshhh..I'm sticking to online ordering from now on! lol! But yea, I seriously can't wait to get my lipsticks. That cashier tried to play me, but thankfully I'm getting what I wanted all along :)

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I'll pick it up later! OT: When I am watching lipstick reviews on YT, I always panic when people put on lipstick with the full lipstick exposed! I always think they are going to break them!

Ok, I know yesterday was the day for Mac Counter/Store horror stories, but I was so done, I didn't even wanna think about my story anymore. However, I'm going to share it today...lol. I hope you guys don't mind the late venting!
Yesterday morning, I woke up bright & early so that I could get to my local Macy's at a reasonable time, before it opened. I was so excited about the MM collection that I left earlier than I originally planned, and got to Macy's at 9:20am. When I arrived, there were already 3 other ladies sitting down, waiting for Macy's to open their doors. We must've looked out of place, because one of the Macy's associated asked us if we were all there for an interview..LOL! We asked him if it would be possible to be let in a little early, but he said no. I wasn't trippin' though, because it's a business that has it's particular schedule to stick by.10 o' clock rolls around, and they FINALLY they opened their doors. By the time this happens, more than 10 people are waiting outside with me. We get inside to the Mac counter, and to our surprise, there was already a line of ladies there!!! In my head, I'm like WTF!!! Dude said no doors were opening earlier than 10am. Obviously, that was a lie, because we got to the counter exactly at 10 and these ladies were already lined up, each with a little piece of paper in their hand!
I asked one guy how they got in so early, and he told me they were waiting at a different entrance... -_______-
One lady from my group was PISSED. She yelled out "WHAT THE F*CK! F*CK THIS SHIT", waited five minutes in line, then left...
At this point, I'm feeling quite let down, because I already knew the stock for the collection was going to be SUPER low. The MAC MAs started handing out numbers, and luckily for me, I grabbed the first number out of everyone in my group that had waited outside with me. While I'm grabbing my number, the MA tells me and the lady right next to me not to worry about stock, because if they don't have what I want, they can do a "Search & Send", and find the item for me to ship it to me. That brightened up my spirits a lot, let me tell ya...By the time they get to my number (#9 to be exact), they are sold out of all the listicks...I repeat...ALL THE LIPSTICKS. All I wanted from this collection was DA & LG, so I tell the cashier I was told a Search & Send could be done for me to get the items I want. She flat out tells me "NO." At this point, I've had more than enough, and I say, "I was told by her *points to the lady that handed me my number* your fellow associated that a Search & Send could be done for me and this lady right next to me because we have been waiting outside since 9:20am to purchase a couple of lipsticks from your counter. It is only right that as a business you keep your word on something like this, especially to loyal customers like her & myself." Mind you, I didn't know the lady next to me personally, or anything. We chatted briefly about previous Mac collections, and it was only right that she got what she wanted, too. After sighing deeply in annoyance, the cashier finally gave in and told the MA that handed me my number to do a Search & Send for me.
I was SOOOO happy yall..I did a fist pump and errythang! Only messed up part about this is that because they were so busy, and because the MA was worried about other things, she messed up my billing address & shipping address. I found out about the mess up AFTER the fact, and had to call Macy's customer service ASAP to fix the problem so that the transaction could go through with no problems. If I would've known all this mess was gonna go down, I probably wouldn't have woken up as early as I did and gone to Macy's at all, but at the end of the day, I'm getting my lipsticks. I'm just busy asking myself...was it really worth all the trouble, stress, and drama? The MAC addict in me says "HELL YEA", but the other part of me is saying "Naw...." =\
Search & Send is definitely one of Macy's better ideas! I'm glad you didn't let that MA tell you that you couldn't do it. I swear, some Macy's employees are just too lazy to bother putting in all the info they need to get the items for you! And of course there are some employees who don't know about that option at all...but that's another story. Yay for getting your lippies!!!

Are you having any luck? Maybe you should PM gracie90. She's doing CPs. The shipping may also be a little cheaper since she's not in the US, but I have no clue.

FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF!!!! I just got two different responses from UPS chat. It's like they won't do anything even though it is THEIR fault. I contacted MAC about this even though it's not their fault just to see if they can do anything for me since they were the ones who sent the package UPS. I tried to call them, but only got a stupid recording that doesn't allow you to hold for customer service. I am beyond pissed at this point. I will keep you guys informed. If I don't hear from UPS tonight, do you think I should just go to this person's apt. and see if they will give me the package? I'm nervous.
THIS is why I NEVER use UPS unless I have no other choice. They have no sense of personal responsibility for the service they provide that their customers are PAYING for. I am sorry, I really hope you get your make up OctoberViolet.

that's why I'M saying! I don't get why she wouldn't wanna offer the best customer service possible to people who are eagerly trying to purchasing products from her company. It's crazy.

I wonder if they can be reported to MAC? Idk if they could do anything about anonymous ebayers.
I have a manager friend at MAC.com & I did report it. She did a very detailed complaint about this & forwarded it on to Corporate. It is kinda hard to deal with other than tracking Pro Discount people.

I've now got everything I wanted, and then some. Somehow, I bought not one but two BP (I'm paying overseas shipping anyway) because so many here love it and I do go through powder much more quickly than other items. If it's not completely HG status for me, my daughter gets one for Christmas. Once I get through the first one, I'm planning on using the packaging for my blot powder. I got TPC from a counter, will pick up CIS from the MAC store and Gracie found a DA for me. I also ended up getting LG for said daughter when I never had any intention of buying it. She'll get TPC, LG and two of the holiday sets of makeup brushes for Christmas and I'm sure she'll be thrilled with all of it although she may need to work her way up to LG. Oh, and Gracie is also scouting out Showgirl for me - I blame Rochelle for that. :nods:

Okay folks, don't shut down the site or anything, but thanks to a lovely lady here on Specktra, I was able to grab four of the MM lippies, they are still on the above site, at least showing in stock at the above department store, if you are in the US. Run, don't walk, and let's see how long they last, and if I actually get an email that says shipped or a "So sorry, we don't have them" message. Evidently they are a small dept store based in the Southern US and they do ship to the US and have stock. I guess they were too small to be vultured up by the evilbay peeps..

So after about 15 pages I was able to catch up. There was insanity today at the stores, so my husband and I went to the store at about 9:50 because the manager told him to come in a little bit early we walked in thru a side door that was left open for employees only but the manager had told the security guard that it was ok for us to come in a bit early. Now mind you my husband had his military uniform on, we walked to the counter and I told the MUA what I wanted, while she got my stuff it was already 10:00 and the doors were open a big crowed of girls ran into to the counter and started yelling what they wanted the manager immediately told them to form a line behind me and my husband and OMG all hell broke loose they started fighting and arguing about should be in front of the line and pushing yelling and shoving started to happen at this point the MUA with my lipsticks comes out and some crazy chick tried to snatch the lipsticks out of her hands, so the MUA yelled and told the chick that it belonged to me and that she needed to get in line well this crazy chick started yelling that she didn't care if my husband was military or not that she should be the one to get the lipsticks because she got to the MUA first, my husband was annoyed so we just rushed and got our stuff. The more insane part is that the chick was really trying to fight for the lipsticks, mall security showed up right after I got my stuff and they escorted the crazy chick out of the mall with no makeup, the security guy said the she was banned from the mall. I never use my military status or my husbands to get ahead of anyone it just so happened that the manager wanted to be nice to me because my order was cancelled at the other Mac store but some people are just jerks I told that stupid chick that the reason why she even had the freedom to get anything was in part because of me and my husband both doing 3 separate tours each in Iraq ughgh some people are assholes! It's not that serious it's makeup there will be more collections. Anyways I did get 1 of all the lipsticks so all in all I'm happy.
Ok, that is just insane! I'm so glad that you got what you wanted. And many, many thanks to you & your husband for your incredible service to this wonderful nation. We are truly appreciative & grateful for all you do.

I ordered Legendary last night before the lippies went up and it has shipped so am hoping that the lippies will too. Plus, if you live in a state that they don't have a storefront in you don't pay sales tax. California gets enough money from me so I'm not too bothered by that lol.

I grabbed Legendary as well, I just wish they'd still had the BP. I will have to sell an internal organ probably to get that. Or maybe I can trade one of the lippies...

Re Search and Ship...

a lot of stores have that service. Nordstoms recently did it for me, Dillards and Macys have in the past. Basically they search the computer database of all the various stores' inventories and put out a call for them to ship to you

Bad News: sometimes the online inventory is off and the stores can sell it to somebody who walks in before pulling it to ship to you. For example almost all the stores had an inventory of 1 for an item I was looking for but that 1 was the display that they kept out so that somebody would see it and then ask for a search and ship from another store that had 2 or more. And obviously the inventory doesn't account for anything pulled back as a hold for a customer that hasn't been sold yet.


Last time I did it they took my CC info and told me lets see if somebody honors the request. Watch your CC to see if it gets an actual charge {instead of a hold} and if it doesn't charge within a couple of days you know that it didn't get pulled off inventory for you.

Not trying to be a downer just giving a heads up on how S&S typically works
