Ok, nice to know. I may try this at some point. ATM my pigments do not come in very lip friendly coloursYes. I stir with a spatula but it does completely get mixed in. For a crazy or intense look you can even blot the dry pigment on after using the mixture for a matte look.
More blushes are always good news
I think they are super cute. I want of the eyeshadow sets too. I wish I had a close friend near me so I could make lovely MAC presents to them lol Otherwise my mum is not into make up at all..)) oh well mor for me, sounds a bit selfishOoooh thank you!
I'm actually excited about the sets from this collection to give people as gifts. Is that weird. Of course I'll be picking up something for myself too...
Can you tell me what you'll do with your make up when you wear Beauty? I love the idea of a light frosty lip but have never work one before. As for the eyeshadows I'd sit till I see them to place my order for those... I spent so much money today kinda broke my heart to pay for these items and I can't have them for 21 more days!
I have also just used vaseline or a clear balm. Many of the pigments are NOT lip safe but I do it anyway and as long as you don't eat it, it probably won't do anything horrible to you but they cannot recommend that they be used that way because either they contain ingredients or the whole product itself has not be tested to be safe on the lips. Usually the ones with glitter but they usually say on the package if not lip safe, etc. Some are not safe for use on the eye either, but that has never stopped me and I have not gone blind LOLThey have lipmix at pro. If not you can use clear lipgloss, dazzleglass, other lipgloss to mix it with; or pat it over lipgloss or lipstick if you do not have lipmix or just want to be creative. Just make sure to mix it on a plate or palette.
yes they are the size of regular shadows and are 19.50Do we know for sure why the EDES are going to be smaller in size, yet still the same price? I can't seem to wrap my head around that one...
Big sized or regular sized, they are worth the cost IMHO. This formula is head and shoulders above almost all other e/s formulae. And trust me, I am an e/s h00r.yes they are the size of regular shadows and are 19.50
IIRC, Naynadine, you are always on Team TaupeAnd I want to see swatches of the taupe EDES.
IIRC, Naynadine, you are always on Team Taupe[IIRC - if i recall correctly]
I want swatches from the non-holiday part of Glamour Daze. I wanna know what those plummy and purple-y lip colors look like - too much like ones i already have or something excitingly different? And of course the ED e/s - close to the original release colors or truly new?
I'm not quite as excited as i was for Heavenly Creature, when i wanted EVERYTHING (but had to settle for about 2/3 of it all). The holiday gift stuff is beautifully packaged so it's gonna be expensive. And the non-holiday singles, while lovely, are for me a mixture of high interest and big shrug.
Thank you for your detailed review! I am so so sorry to hear about your mother's death. I know this must be a hard time for you right now. I am glad you were able to get PB e/s. Mine is coming Monday.Sorry if this post is redundant, but i got behind reading while out of town at my mom's funeral.
So, i got back in town Weds night. And Thurs. AM did NOT rush to my local MAC where a mob eager for Marilyn was waiting for the store to open. They only let people in 5 at a time because so many were out there. In about 45 min, they were sold out of all the lipsticks, blushes and powders, and most of the eye shadows. I arrived about 1-1/2 hours later and managed to get the LAST one of the only product i wanted, Preferred Blonde e/s.
But i DID get to see half of the beautifully packaged Holiday Collection.
I previously mentioned seeing a snap clutch that had red satiny material inside clear plastic with printed-on leopard spots on the outside and clear plastic with printed-on black lace on the inside. Well, it was red because it had RED lip products inside. Those who felt bad the pink ones weren't pink... well, lift up your spirits, because if the product is pink the satin is pink, too.
I saw all three brush sets, each in a similar leopard case with satin the color of the brushes -- ok, the duo-fibre are in a warm beige. In other words, the colors of the satiny fabric coordinate with what the clutch contains. For the lip sets -- pink, coral/orange, nude, or red -- the satin matches. And they can be used as little purses when the product is removed.
Plus there is a leopard spotted hanging make-up bag that rolls up for travel - i don't recall seeing it mentioned, and i'm coveting it.
THEN i saw the little upholstered poof boxes with the black plastic bows which are absolutely adorable!
The eye shadow combos are glorious! I was not at all interested when i saw the on-line photos. Big shrug. But seeing them in person, oh, how i wanted them all! The color combos are gorgeous! And many of the shadows have beautiful finishes that don't show in photos.
The lip-eye-face sets are beautifully designed. Open the large poofed clutch, and there's room for a few small things, and a hinged heavy black cover over the makeup products so they don't get munged. The inside of the protective cover is a fairly large mirror. Inside is a face powder and several eye shadows. AND the lip products are protected by a little easy-to-lift hinged cover, so the eye shadows won't contaminate them. Then, after you're done, the makeup section can be lifted out and the large clutch can be used as a purse - so keep the satin clean
There's a face set that in the photos has a large square of face powder to the left and a small black square to the right. When i saw it i thought the black square was eye liner or shadow. Nope. It's a MAC-tastic powder puff (for that old-fashioned glamourous way of powdering your nose). That set is in a re-usable clutch like the lip-eye-face set, with the same protective flap with a mirror. Both practical and luxurious.
The lip gloss sets and the pigment sets will be in a second set of releases, so they weren't in the shop. And they are what i REALLY wanted to see. So i'm on tenter hooks until they come in about a month.
I can confirm that each set in an upholstered box is beautiful and well-thought-out, and the packaging is fantastic. The leopard spotted packaging is not quite the same quality, but i think they're cute and practical - and probably a bit less expensive.
Oh, a video? Please share if you don't mindSo my mom just sent me a video of the collection. She was in a rush so couldn't swatch anything. It was just the sets that were out but so excited!!!! Why am I do Mac crazy!?!?
