MAC for Marilyn

Hi everyone, Hope everyone is doing wonderfully & that everyone was able to get what they wanted. I'm trying to play catch up here. Here's my story... My fav SA (I've been working with her for over a year now) called me weeks ago when this came in & said she pulled 1 of everything. I told her I ONLY wanted the lippies & that thankfully my family was going to get me the red lippies, because of how expensive my medical bills are...Anyhow, when my mom got to the store (I'm not naming names) she did not have DA, that was the one I desperately wanted I didnt see a bunch of swatches, just wanted a good, dark red. When I spoke to the SA she gave me some roundabout, no excuse for why she presaled me on DA & then took it away. I wasn't able to go to the store in person because I was too ick. If anyone has an extra or finds they don't care for it, please let me know. I haven't tried any of the other MM red LS on in hopes that there is someone who wants one of those & is willing to swap...really I'm totally down to sell my soul for a DA. Please, if you're considering letting DA go & like one if the others please let me know, I'd appreciate it. Or, if there is anyone who gets a chance on a restock or it hasn't released in another country please CP me one & then PM me. There is just too much on here to keep up with because my mind is spinning on the other crud in my life. I still miss u all dearly. Thank you

I'd like to share a bit of an email that I got today. I felt really bad that I wasn't able to get what I wanted from MM initially. I was having a bit of a pity party. At no time did I blame the wonderful MUA at my favorite counter. Unfortunately, I didn't think about what the poor employees were going through. I sent a "thank you" email to my friend who is the counter manager and this is what I got back (I edited out her comments about the holiday collection and put them in that thread if you want to read those):


Hi April! I wanted you to know I forwarded that email on to both my department manager AND store manager. As you can imagine, this weekend was a weekend of back to back apologies due to the minimal availability. TORTURE!! Don’t tell her I told you, but Melissa was seriously in tears regarding having to tell you the fact that there was no product. I felt horrible for both of you, but she figured it out and I appreciate you sending me that email. We needed some positive reinforcement!! Thanks again for sending that email. It means a lot to us, especially a new MAC kid who has the end all be all MAC addict (that would be you!) disappointed. She was so upset! So thank you, talk soon!

So if you had a great experience or a MAC employee who made sure you got what you wanted from this insanely LE condition, take the time to say thank you and let their boss know. I am convinced that being kind and loyal as well as taking time to acknowledge good service is the reason that I have never missed out on an item I wanted in a LE collection in over 7 years. I love my counter!

I immediately asked the MA after he did the Search and Send if there was a way for me to leave feedback for him. He gave me the number to his manager. I called, but had to leave a voicemail message because the manager was on her lunch break. I was gushing about how helpful the two MAs were for so long that the recording stopped and my message got cut off.

Nice haul. When you get the goods I'd be interested in knowing which of the MM lippies is most suitable with the Cherry liner. I have the others, along w/burgundy that someone suggested went well w/Deeply Adored. Thanx!

Oh yeah. I was supposed to swatch the Cremesheen+Pearl Pure Zen with the Marilyn Monroe Pure Zen to see if they're different. I couldn't do it because the Marilyn Pure Zen tester wasn't out. They removed all of the lipsticks after they sold out. I can bring my Pure Zen with me to the mall tomorrow and try doing the comparison then.

I think I'll leave mine as is for now...at least until I need the space. I have 3 full MAC palettes and will need to buy another empty to depot my current blush buildup. Also, I kinda like keeping products in their special packaging.

TOO, and I plan to write about the MUA at my local Nordstrom. As I noted in a prior post, she held my items, called me as she had promised, assuring one happy customer...ME. I won't mention all of the details in the event she was forbidden (like so many people noted in their recent experiences) to take pre-sale orders. I'd hate to get her in trouble. I can laud her efforts without too many specifics. Also, when I complete the online surveys, I make it clear that I frequent a local stand-a-lone MAC store and sing their praises every chance I get.

I need you to pick out my glasses for me. I went shopping for frames last week and just walked out the store confused (and hating my fat face LOL)

don't be discouraged. try another shop....i usually have an extremely hard time finding frames that suit my face, because my face is excessively narrow (think child sized) and my prescription is very high (cuts out the number of frames that would effectively look like 'coke bottles'). i usually have to try a large number of shops before finding a handful of frames that look good. usually i only end up with one or two options. sometimes it makes all the difference to find a good sales assistant with a pleasant attitude...who understands frames, face shapes and prescriptions!

I couldn't depot my special packaging blushes. Hell, I'm too nervous to do so with the non special edition ones. I like the Marilyn packaging so won't do that to my Legenday. Those who do depot, do you keep the compact? Just curious.

You can get it now on the MAC website in the regular MAC Nail lacquer packaging as part of the permanent product line. The MM Vintage Vamp is being sold on Amazon for ridiculous $$$

I've resorted to bringing a camera with me so I can photograph myself with different frames on. Then I put my glasses back on so I can see what I look like in the pictures. Mae West is another great one. I was also wondering why Sandman seemed familiar to me. Yoshitaka Amano did the artwork for a spin-off story. OOohh, Yoshitaka Amano would be another great collection. He's one of my favorite artists.

I would FLIP OUT for a Twiggy collection! It could have some amazing eye and cheek products. Sandman would be cool too-- maybe there could be some Death black shadow with a skull compact like her necklace.

My pick would be for Aishwarya Rai, Naomi Campbell, basically some amazing WOC because I think us nonporcelains need more love. Not that the other ones listed aren't great, but still.
