My plan is to one day get the invite... and then to follow this strategy. I mean... I'm all for free booze but you gotta have your plan of attack. haha!!!

Did all the stores have girls in those adorable dresses and bows? I feel like they need to go in my closet. :)

The Seattle event was alot of fun. Some of the MAs from other stores as well as the regional trainer were all there to help out so I saw alot of familiar faces. It was kind of like Cheers when I walked in and about 6 MAC MAs (and their trainer) all said "Hi April".

I am glad that I pre-ordered. I got everything I want. I did hear that some of the Nordstrom counters got plenty of stock. And a little birdie told me that the Macy's exclusive (I believe released Black Friday?) is simply AMAZING.

I "think" I am done with this collection and can't wait to play with my new goodies.

HC *almost* got me to sign up, but this has finally pushed me over the edge, I just can't stay silent any longer!

I've actually been staying away for a little while, so I've got a lot of catching up to do - on p35 of this thread but I'm reading it all, hate missing links/pics/swatches LOL.

I'm kind of a make-up noob too. Not a kid mind you (35, how the heck did that happen) but never really got into wearing makeup when I was younger, although I still seem to have acquired a reasonable size stash, go figure. Maybe it's a getting older thing, but lately decided I wanted to start prettying myself up a bit more, and got frustrated with the quality of the eyeshadows I already owned in particular. Lots of research later, and I decided MAC was my best bet as a go-to, although I'm not 100% brand loyal by any means. I started with a handful of perm e/s, then when looking for swatches discovered Specktra and the madness of LE collections, and now I'm wondering when I'm ever going to have any spare cash to add to my 'basics'!

So, my list so far, which I'm sure will be reduced down once I see swatches (hopefully by the time I get to the end of this thread I'll have seen a few!):

Lipsticks:
Glamourdaze - midtone creamy plum (CS)

Lipglass:
Flight of Fancy - rich purple

Extra Dimension Skinfinish:
Whisper of Gilt

Extra Dimension Eyeshadow:
A Natural Flirt - soft peachy nude
Divine Blue - midtone aqua
Ready to Party - pale lilac
Evening Grey - steel silver
Round Midnight - dark burgundy
Stolen Moment - dark taupe

Fluidlines:
Catch My Eye - cool taupe grey with dazzle pearl
Little Black Bow - charcoal with dazzle pearl (maybe)
Feminine Edge - pink mauve with dazzle pearl

Powder Blush:
I'm the One - midtone blue pink (maybe)
Easy Manner - light dirty peach
Small Vanity - dusty rose tan

Yikes! In reality I'll probably only get one of the blushes, and the purple gloss set may win out over the lipglass, but this is still going to be expensive...

Ugh... my list keeps changing. I dont know what to get now. I cross things off and add others just to re-add the things I took off again. haha... MAC... Stop playing with my heart and wallet. haha... Guess I'll be at my Pro store tomorrow afternoon to pickup stuff and to pre-order at Nordies.

Only a few people paid in front of us and when I got in line the MUA told me I got the last Whisper of Guilt??!! Fiberluver and I both said we felt sorry for the folx still partying like it was 1999. She said there were going to be some pissed off people once they got themselves together and went up to purchase their stuff and as we walked out the door she said WOW look at the people still standing outside. They're the 8:00 shift and they are going to be pissed. Don't they know there's a strategy to this...buy now drink later!!!!

Our store did. The dressess were adorable! The set up was quite nice but a bit crowded with people trying to get to the displays, the mua dabbing color yon and hither and all the poor little waiters trying not to get trampled.

At one point I looked up from the displays and everyone was holding a wine glass except for me.

I pipped over to the line to get my s#*^, as presstoblend so eloquently put it, and then reached for a wine glass to toast my success!

The GD dresses looked much nicer than the matronly aprons they had for Shop Cook. Those were just hideous.

Last night was my first MAC party. Our store was tiny and there were sooo many people. The waiters were cute but looked so out of place among us crazy makeup ladies. The champagne/rose was really good and so were the macaroons. I only got 3 things bc we only had one tester station.

Whisper of Gilt (wanted it from last collection)
Raven eye kohl, loved this when swatched and paired with a taupe e/s
Glamourdaze l/s, this was a rosy plummy neutral that I didn't have in my collection

Glamour Daze lipstick swatches. I wish I had Glamourdaze to compare. I'm also now rethinking Innocence. I forgot that it was a Frost with a Lustre-like finish when I swatched it last night. I was expecting a strong, opaque color like an Amplified and didn't get it.


Prince Noir - Dramatic Encounter - Yung Rapunxel


You can see that Dramatic Encounter appears to have more red than Yung Rapunxel. But like I said last night, they both look the same on me when applied to my lips. Dramatic Encounter is more opaque and applies better than Yung Rapunxel. I have to do several swipes of Yung Rapunxel sense it's so sheer to get it to be the same intensity as Dramatic Encounter.

Outrageously Fun really is a pink Up The Amp. I'm actually shocked that none of my other pink lipsticks are similar. They're all either too bright or too dark. I'm getting a BU of this one. Hold the phone! I just realized that Chanel Extatique may be similar... I just checked. Yup they're similar. They don't appear to be in the tube with Extatique looking more pink, but you can see it on my hand. They both have that purple-pink color.

so YR and DE are the same color but DE is more opaque. you dont need both. unless you loathe YR formula which i do, so im keeping it.

Yay for Glamourdaze l/s!!!!! I love Offshoot so it's nice to have a l/s similar to it.

In my mind I thought it was going to be darker. I keep debating on whether or not i need to get it. I want to see someone actually use it on their face and i think that'll be my decision maker or breaker.
