MAC Holiday 2012 Glamour Daze / Fabulousness / Guilty Passions Collection Discussion

So, this will be a relatively small haul for me. I'm going to focus on holiday collections from other brands.
I'm with ya. If it was $50, I'd do it. Those corals are really pretty.

I don't know if I can bring myself to get the baby edes either. I may get one if I get the nerve. Although I'm not in the mood for more shinies right now. I had a hard time making the switch when MAC cut the pigment jars down in size and kept the price the same. Same when they cut the Cheez-it box after the recession. It's hard psychologically to watch everything shrink...haha.

I'm on the fence about the fluidlines. I have 3 open that I use right now: Siahi, Ash Violet and Midnight Snack. And I don't really want to add to that. I'm concerned about the glitter getting in the eye. And I also wonder if the pink and taupe would have a pretty look and make much of an impact or not show up. The pink seems to look warm when I see it in the jar in pics. But in swatches it looks cool toned. I'd like to see it on an eye. But it is unique and I like to go ahead and buy the unique items. What to do...

Oookayyyy... I just tried Feminine Edge Fluidline, and I don't think I like it. I put it on my bare eyes with no primer or eye shadow. I love the color, but not this new dazzle pearl formula. It doesn't apply smoothly to my lashline even though it seems fine on a hand swatch. Some of the dazzle specks clump together, which is strange because I don't see chunks of glitter in the pot or on my brush. I used the 211 brush on one eye and the 266 brush on the other. It was the same clumptastic result.

I haven't tried the other two Fluidlines yet, but so far I'm really disappointed. I was expecting the same smooth and creamy texture that I love about all of my other Fluidlines. I just thought they would be extra pearly, not chunky. Blah!

Can anyone else who bought the Fluidlines comment? Did I get a dud or has anyone else experienced this?

Try it with a primer. I think that's always the way to go. Even though I have dry skin that everything sticks to, I always use a primer unless it's a paint pot or a mufe aqua cream. Let me know how it goes b/c if it still sucks, that means I can skip the first part of this collection completely and that's awesome.

Thank you so much for this detailed review/opinion on them! Since i have still have another week left before i can actually see the collection i can only go by what other people post on here. I guess my best option is to wait and swatch them in person. I mentioned several pages back that i have the Chanel Illsuion D'Ombre which i love to use has either a liner, shadow, or even a base and have never had any problems with them. My wallet will be happy if i can skip these altogether.

Hi All! I've been reading here forever but this is my first post! I went to the party tonight and wanted to share some product pics in case they were helpful for anyone. Sorry for the not great photo quality.

Here's my haul minus the eye pencils I forgot to include.

Now I remember what the packaging reminds me of, they look like Bottega Veneta's clutches.

Do we know for sure that it's at Pro tomorrow? The official release says online Oct. 23 which it's usually up a bit before then.

Here is In the Limelight nail polish. I applied 2 coats with basecoat and topcoat. You can't use only 1 coat, as it is very streaky. After 2 coats it is much better, but 3 would probably be best to avoid any patchiness. The mint color is lovely but the formula is a bit thin. I don't normally wear MAC polish so I can't really compare to their other ones.

I seem to remember someone a few pages back saying that it's out in Pro stores the 18th. I'm sleep-deprived from stalking MAC's site though, so I could've hallucinated that.

Success with Catch My Eye Fluidline! This one applies the way that I'm used to - nice and smooth. I tried one eye with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and left the other eye bare. It applied smoothly to both. The color is also really pretty. My eyes are too irritated now to try Little Black Bow. I'll have to do that one tomorrow and I'll try Feminine Edge again. I'm still not sure if Feminine Edge is a dud or if there may be something wrong with that specific color.

I should mention that I only wear my Fluidlines as eye liners, not as bases all over the eye. So I tested them only as eye liners.

I got all three and just tried one of them, and I'm disappointed. I need to try the other two.
I purchased Feminine Edge as well but have not tried it.

I asked the MUA the best way to use it and she said use it as an under-eye liner.

Not waterline, under the eye.

Perhaps a chat w/MAC would help?

Sad to see you are disappointed!

Under-eye liner? I don't even do that because it just draws attention to the bags under my eyes. This thing has to work as a liner or a base or just count me out. :eek:hboy:

I'm on the fence now about Catch my Eye which is good because I need to pare down on my preorder anyway. It looks more gray than taupe to me. I'm not getting Stolen moment....it looks too much like Satin Taupe for my taste.
I'm only getting it b/c I'm out of Satin Taupe, so why not get this?? LOL
