MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

On my lips they look exactly the same. I prefer Pink Pigeon, probably mostly because of the scent. Nars lipsticks somehow smell less good to me. I posted swatch comparisons of Pink Pigeon, Schiap, Quick Sizzle and Carthage (Nars) in the shop shop shop thread. I added them here below. In the pictures there seems a small difference in PP and Schiap. IRL they are twins on my lips (and on my hand too). Perhaps Pink Pigeon is the teeniest more matte. Otherwise I wouldn't know any difference between the two.

I got Candy Yum Yum the other day and it is definately brighter on me than Pink Pigeon.

This is so extremely helpful! Now I'm thinking PP might be calling my name after all, haha. I love my QS, and PP looks kind of like a lighter version of it here. Thank you for the comparison and your thoughts!

I would like y'all's advice on the lipsticks--

CYY and Quick Sizzle are my two favorite lipsticks, hands down. I definitely want Pink Pigeon and Party Parrot. Question is, should I get two of each? I don't have BUs of CYY or QS, so I use them sparingly because of that. That said, to date I am nowhere near close to finishing a single lipstick, starting with my first MAC lipstick purchase a month after Villains was released. But I just really got into lipsticks this summer, so that should change a little.

Beyond that, I'm not sure if these two will be as big of a hit with me as the other two I have. Based on my faves, do y'all think I will really love these two pinks as well?

I am so excited for these two to come out. It would be nice if they were released early enough online so they could be delivered before Christmas, and then I could decide that way whether or not I needed to get BUs from the store on the 26th.

I'm not looking forward to that day, though!

I went to Macy's last year for Tour de Fabulous and Daphne Guiness, and what a zoo. Ended up having to travel an hour to get to a store that actually had Vintage Grape, since I had no internet access for about a week at the time.

Colourwise Impassioned and Party Parrot are nearly identical. Impassioned is creamier, Party Parrot is matte and therefore seems slightly more intense. Moxie is darker and Fusion Pink has a sheen which makes is totally different from the others. HTH.

Sorry about the lighting by the way. It is dark here, so I went for the artificial light that reflects the colours best. I always prefer daylight. This comes second.

Fusion Pink is probably my favourite lippie of all time and I finally got my hands on Moxie courtesy of Anitacska. I will have to make do with Impassioned if I miss Party Parrot but it's the matte finish that makes the colour really stand out IMO.
