Do you really think M.A.C lipsticks are overpriced ?

I have one Bobbi Brown lipstick ( 25 € here in France ) which is very very good but M.A.C + Bobbi Brown belong to the Estee Lauder company so... Honestly I don't know if Givenchy is worth the price, same opinion about Lancôme or Clinique ( also belongs to Estee Lauder but I may be wrong ).
M.A.C regular lipsticks are 18 € ( Glamour Daze ) and Marilyn are 20 €, Marcel Wanders are 26 € but the packaking is gorgeous ( I don't have any M. Wanders lipsticks ). Compared to the Rouge G well, it's a cool price ! The Rouge G is overpriced I think even if it's beautiful. I don't want to buy a Rouge G, really too expensive. I have more than 100 different lipsticks now, I have no Rouge G.....
Apparently M.A.C lipsticks are more expensive in Germany ?

Nordies has the BEST customer service, which is why, when given a choice, I always purchase from Nordies. Plus - free shipping, easy to track, etc. Unfortunately, Nordies does not give a pro discount.

Note to MAC:
I love you, and your lipsticks, but they are NOT worth 20 Euro. Now that you've reached that mark with this collection, I will think hard about purchasing one. I will only buy one if I'm 100% sure that I like it and will wear it a lot. If I'm in doubt I will skip.
I'm still kinda liking Innocence and also Beauty (if applied lightly it seems nice), but not enough to feel comfortable spending 20 Euro on it. I'll get a Bobbi Brown lippie instead.

I agree! Here the regular packaging lipstick is 18 euros and the Marilyn ones went up to 20! So, I have a feeling that the Glamourdaze ones will be 20 euros as well...

But I need help

!!! For someone who is on a self imposed blush "no-buy", I'm spending a lot of time looking up swatches. I've convinced myself that I don't need "I'm the One" since I have Nars Gaiety and that Easy Manner is just another peach blush, but I need someone to convince me/give me reasons whhhhhhhhhhhhy I don't need Small Vanity! My self control is waning.(BTW, I'm also accepting any and all enabling as well. Equal opportunity debate and all).

What would I do without Specktra? I went ahead and ordered the items I knew I wanted as soon as I saw the collection was up on Nordies. I got burned when Marilyn went up on the MAC site right as I was getting into work. As soon as I could take a break and try and get some of the lippies, they were all gone! Decided not to take a chance this time. Here was my final list:

Small Vanity blush

In the last few days I started wanting to add A Natural Flirt to my list because of all the good things I was reading about it, and a Stolen Moment because I luuurrvvee taupe...but decided to wait until Temptalia or Allura has swatches up. Also, I'm trying to save up for all the delicious purple lipsticks coming up and Jet and Firm Form! I can't wait until we hear more about those...

Of course other brands are even more expensive here.
But compared to the US they are overpriced IMO. (I had a look at the Nordstrom site which automatically shows me the US prices converted in Euros, and a l/s is just 12-13 Euro there!) And the price keeps getting higher. So I might as well spend a couple of Euros more on higher end l/s, where I feel the formulas are nicer and they are actually worth that high price.
Also I feel the quality in MAC l/s can differ a lot. One can have a smooth and even application and feel nice and hydrating, another one can look patchy and feel drying. And since I order all my MAC online I don't want to take that risk of ending up with a lippie I hate (well there's always a risk, but I want to keep it as minimal as possible). So if I see swatches that make me doubt if a l/s has a nice formula, I rather invest in a high end brand one where the quality is more consistent. I hope that makes sense

Good morning Specktra family. I want to thank you all for letting me know that Glamour Daze was up on the Nordstrom website. I placed my order. Kept it real small which is very hard to do for me. I only ordered Beauty l/s & Ready to Party EDES. I'm surprised this isn't up on MAC yet. At least my order is placed and I can now go out and enjoy my birthday. TTYL later. Yes, the brush sets are machine mass produced and the quality definitely isn't the same. I typically save my money so that I can (slowly) buy full size brushes, but they're really cute this time! I'm going to try my luck and see if they hit the CCO. I don't think I like them enough to pay full price.

I feel the same way, but what if we miss out! lol But, I see brush sets at the CCO every year, so fingers crossed.

Post-Marilyn, I now wonder if the opposite will happen with Glamour Daze --> Stores will sell out first before the online launch because of the increase in pre-orders. Then it will be a mad rush to order things online.

Well since Mac raised the price on all products, I decided just to get Superb, I feel like those blushes are not that special and so are the lippies, when I first added all I wanted it went up way up there, so I decided to be logical lol and just buy the Superb and 1 lip liner from MM collection.
