maccina please let us know how do you like the powder
You should definitely check out the blush. Red Hot was my second one- I also got the adorably named "Pink Punk". Pink Punk is amazing for subtle "doll cheeks" and the plum shade is an AMAZING contour. But Red Hot... OMG... Red Hot... Today is my first day wearing it. I had a feeling it would be too warm/ burnt looking on me, despite how attracted I was to it, but figured I might be able to work it as a bronzy shade. Completely wrong. It's incredible. Already I think it's become one of my very favourite blushes. I just ranted about it in the Guerlain thread, but I'm truly enchanted. Strangely, I haven't picked up any of the lighter colours, which would in theory work better on my skin tone. I do have my eye on Chic Pink, though. It'll just have to wait until after I'm done gorging on holiday collections...Geesh, now I feel like I should have checked out the blush. The eye/lip palette is really really pretty. But, I didn't swatch it because I didn't want to be tempted
The colors in the Guerlain palette are really my kind of es colors. Very versatile as they are beautiful. I also loved how pigmented they are.
I think that you could get away with a light application/wash. Not sure how that would be for the darker brown though. Can the Turandot shades be applied lightly to give a softer look, or is a soft look kind of an oxymoron with this palette because they are inherently stronger colors? I guess that's been my hesitation all along because I prefer a light/soft eye on myself.
I don't have Turandot but I prefer a soft look too. I'm slowly starting to get into the bolder eye looks. Do you have any of the Mac duo fiber eye shadow brushes? They would be great for this. Also the 227 is good for a soft look. Can the Turandot shades be applied lightly to give a softer look, or is a soft look kind of an oxymoron with this palette because they are inherently stronger colors? Amazing haul MACina, enjoy everything!
The brushes in the Mineralize holiday brush set are duo fiber, right? I was thinking of picking up that set. Kinda want to wait for it to get to the CCO, but don't really want to wait until next year since I actually NEED some brushes.I don't have Turandot but I prefer a soft look too. I agree with you. It's too cluttered and looks disorganized. It's also annoying not showing the color names on the What's New page. I'm also still wondering if Notorious is becoming permanent since it's not designated as Limited Edition? The color swatches of the lipsticks and glosses are even less accurate than before.
And I don't care for the way they don't even show the names of the lipsticks until you click on them, here for example:

In general, I don't think it's an improvement at all. Even the landing page looks confusing and less classy imo.
Yes, they're duo fibre. Mine should arrive today. I was originally going to get them from a CCO as well. I didn't want to risk not getting the Mineralize one since I got it specifically to match the hanging travel bag. I hear the quality of the SE brushes are decent to good, but definitely not as great as the regular MAC brushes. I have full size duo fibre brushes and plan to use the Mineralize set for travel. If you actually need brushes, you may want to invest in the full size brushes over the SE brushes. The brushes in the Mineralize holiday brush set are duo fiber, right? Got the duo today & I really like it. The black is a nice soft grey black & I really really like the claire color.
