^^ Now you are making me want Star Dust. I have been thinking about it and feel I'll regret if I pass. So in your opinion it is wearable daily? I am not adversed to shimmers on my cheeks, even for daily wear, but I have this feeling SD is overly shimmery. Shontay - How was the test? :) Good luck, if the test hasn't happened yet. I wore the quad, Notorious and Allegorie. The quad turned out to be quite subtle on me, and Allegorie was colourless with the shimmers visible. Guess it is good for a lipstick topper. Notorious is so pigmented I was caught off guard, because I am used to the baked JC which are hard and I always push my brush forcefully against the powder surface. I wore it as a contour lightly below my cheeks, any more it would look like death. I'll try it as an eyeshadow next. I have decided to skip the mini brush set this year because the brushes are very similar to last year's.
I got about 10 inches before the instructor told me I couldn't take the test. My emergency break just wasn't strong enough for him. It stopped the car, but not as fast as he wanted and he didn't like that you have to pull the lever up instead of just using a button. So over it. I'm going to another town tomorrow to take it. I am having my car looked at, though to make the breaking tighter, but it's made the way it's made, ya know? I just want to get this over with, pass or fail. :eek:hboy:

What the eff????? Who uses an emergency brake anymore? If it's in working order they really shouldn't say anything about what method is used to employ it. If so, it would require everyone to have the newest vehicles in order to drive which obviously is not a requirement. In fact, it's classist. Go to the next town, girl. And ignore my good luck in another thread. LOL

That's lame. Don't let that fool get to you. Do what you have to do to pass the test tomorrow.

Thanks, ladies. It's like, my car is great (OK, it's my dad's car right now). It's not a piece of crap barely making it on the road. Plus, I'm good enough that no one would need to use an emergency break on me. Whatever. I get to go where I wanted to and take the test anyway. Back to makeup, though: I'm probably in the wrong thread (does that even matter anymore? :haha:), but the new Chanel mascara is amazing. Seriously, my favorite mascara ever. Granted, my lashes don't need much help because they are long and have a nice volume to them, but this mascara makes them so dramatic. It gives me the false effect and I love that! I can't put on fake lashes to save my life, so this is a miracle in a tube.

Good luck with everything Shontay! I'm sure you'll tear it up on that driving test! And I need to try out that mascara . . .

My guy works for the Dept of Trans and he gives driving tests on occasion when he's not pulling fools over so I do get where they'd want the brake to work. (We were just discussing over the weekend how his Captain was giving a test and they got into an accident in the parking lot. :-/) My brake isn't a button and I've never even seen one like that. Clearly we're just not fancy enough. The evaluator in the next town won't even notice the parking brake issue. Everyone has their thing they focus on. Go get 'em tomorrow!

Good to hear about the new Chanel mascara. I just stocked up at the Nordstrom sale so I won't be trying anything new for awhile. On topic though, I'm wearing the gold color from the Harmonie quad for the first time today and it is sparkly. I was really surprised. Seems too glittery for work, but whatever. Also wearing a light swatch of La Provocante and used NYX Cabaret lip pencil under it to lessen the vamp. Makes it mid-tone plummy and daytime wearable.

Totally OT: I'm listening to Jodeci's Feenin'... I need someone to laugh with me.

Between this and what I stumbled upon googling in the nail polish thread I'm done for the day. I'm not going to get any work done. My concentration is blown to bits. I'm off to play with makeup.

That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I have never even been in a car that didn't have a lever for emergency brake! And I have been driving off and on, in various cars all over the country, for 32 yrs. Is this a new thing? The button? My car is currently a 10 yr old minivan so it might be a new thing....

:lmao: Oh goodness, I was in Nordstroms yesterday and had my itunes on shuffle and that song came on. I had to chuckle to myself. Forgot I even had it there.

My emergency break has the lever and the button. I don't know what the hell his deal was. The girl who was ahead of me got an instructor that seemed really chill. I watched her trying to parallel park and she tried no less than 6 times and twice she hit the curb. I hope I get lucky enough to get someone that patient. It's like rolling dice. Some of these instructors take their job to the head. I don't think the dude I was unlucky enough to get was wrapped tight anyway.

Now I'm curious about the new Chanel mascara. I was planning on going back to my beloved YSL Faux Cils in Ultra-Black next time I purchase, but maybe I need to try this one first...

By the way, if anyone wants a really dramatic, but gorgeous Chanel lippie, try Intrigue glossimer over the new Rouge Noir RA lipstick. I tried this yesterday and just loved it. It actually fades quite nicely over a few hours as well.

They sent me a sample with notorious and I love it. I'm probably going to order a full size soon.

My new Saks SA said she was going to mail me a sample of the mascara. I'm hesitant to buy expensive mascaras because I'm afraid they'll dry out before I use them.

Ditto. That happened to me with DiorShow. I rarely wear mascara, but recently splurged on Armani Eyes to Kill and Lancome Hypnose Drama. The Lancome is very nice and the Armani is ok. I need to exchange it for ETK Excess which is what I actually ordered. I'm glad I got sent the wrong one, though, so at least I could try it out. Since I've been wearing more makeup I'm starting to wear more mascara to finish the look. Before, I never wore mascara during the week.

My Chanel mascara's have never dried out on me. I always run through them, too. Just remember not to double pump the wand. Just in general, be gentle with it. I slowly remove the wand from the tube and seal it back tight. Also, where you store it matters. I wouldn't keep it in the bathroom.

OK, I didn't know that. I multi-pump the wand to load it up with mascara. I've been using a MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara that I bought last year. I've seen it said that you should throw out mascara every 3 months, but I still get mascara on the wand when I use it. I can't tell if it's expired or not. It seems like it's still working, so I keep using it.

The more makeup looks I do, the more I'm realizing I like mascara. It does make a look seem more pulled together whether it's natural looking or dramatic.

I think most people keep them until they're dry and unusable!
