MAC Après Chic Collection Discussion (December 2012)

Playing with my eyeliners... these babies are drying up so fast that I have no time to smudge them. I know eye khols are better for that, but I like to smudge my pencil a little bit so it's less harsh, even the powerpoint are kinda easy to smudge even if they dry fast. It even start to dry directly on the tip of the pencil before you apply it on your eyes! They glide easily on my hand, but it's another story on my lids.

They're definitely not the smudgy kind of pencil - too waxy. One of the reasons they work so great in the waterline, I guess. I found that applying them to the upper/lower waterline heavily and sort of working it into the lash line from there gave the best look.

I was literally just about to post this! These pictures are extremely color accurate and match up with everything I saw when I swatched these myself last Tuesday.

I have such a headache. Not sure if it's because I'm getting sick, because I've been working nonstop the past three weeks, or because I've been staring at the computer screen for the past few days waiting for this collection to come out, going like this the entire time (except it's my keyboard instead of a brick wall) ---->

Finally someone with my skintone swatched all the lippies! Hot Chocolate looks a little tooooo brown. I really need to see what it looks like on the lips. Glad I wasn't interested in the blushes since they look positively drab when swatched.

I was on the fence about Taupe Shape, but after seeing those swatches I'm fine just sticking with NYX Taupe blush.

Taupe Shape doesn't look like that on me, it's more taupe/mauve.

She said her MAC already threw away the testers for Firm Form and Strong Woman b/c they sold out.

Like no one would want to try them before they purchased online? The store knows the collection hasn't been released yet, right? *eyeroll* What a waste.

Finally swatches of the lipsticks! Most definitely getting cozy up and that's it as far as the lippies are concerned. Absolute power is looking a tad orange-red for my liking and the rest are not must haves for me.

Hmmm....I'm wondering if Macys.com is going to release this online earlier than the scheduled release date Dec 26th. From what i've noticed from previous collections, they always release a few days earlier than the stores. I'm still stalking the Mac site even though my goodies are already on hold lol.

I don't contour, but if i ever do, I've got the pro contour powders, so I'm good!

They don't throw em away. We used to tell customers that all the time cuz either A. We most likely presold all of em, including the would-be tester or B. You'd be surprised at how many customers ask to buy the tester (even if it's used) and then get aggressive when we tell em we can't do that. People are freaks!
