No lipstick BUs or MES because of low funds. But I know I can go back and get BUs later from a counter if I really love something. I also want to see the MES in person first. I have a hunch I may BU Hot Chocolate. I just love the name being a chocoholic fiend. My makeup obsession pales in comparison to my chocolate one.
Ugh! I'm low on funds too. I want to haul from this collection, Pressed Pigments, Chanel and Guerlain. I can't make a decision just yet. I do have gift cards from Macy's and Nordstrom that I managed to hold onto since last Christmas. I hope nothing sells out on me while I'm thinking it over.

I ordered Apres Chic, Hot Chocolate, and Stereo Rose from this collection. I like the one lip swatch that I've seen of Apres Chic...but now I'm wondering if it's going to be similar to my Cyndi lipstick? Or maybe even Hibiscus? What do ya'll think?
Also, Hot Chocolate (at least from the instagram lip swatch) looks like a greyed brown? Do you think it will be too grey for my really yell--toned dark skin (I'm kinda a NC50 in MAC...but with way more yellow in my skin).
Apres Chic is not at all like Hibiscus or Fire Sign. Fire Sign is more sheer compared to AC. Hibiscus is a coral-orange-red. AC is definitely more opaque and a brick red. The swatches that were posted of AC make it look sheer, but it's not (at least not on me). It's so pretty though. And Hot Chocolate wasn't grey. It was more pink-brown with maybe a hint of plum.

I did already BU hot chocolate. I saw a youtube guru with dark skin and it is like a mauvey color. Kinda like glamourdaze but with mauve undertone than brown. If I do not like it I can always return the bu.
Wha-huh? A more mauve Glamourdaze you say? Then I'm getting a BU for sure.

I just picked up Haute Altitude, Apres Chic and Silver Birch from Nordstrom. I only got what I was sure I would like, won't buy anything else from this or Strength until I see swatches on Temptalia who has similiar skin tone to myself (but I have blue eyes).

I got 2 Apres Chics, one is for my mother. I'm here in NY, my father probably has pancreatic cancer and things are really grim and we're all freaking out. I thought maybe the lipstick would make her smile a little.

Just a note to all of you - make sure you spend time with the people you love and tell them that. You never know when it will be too late. Life is short, don't get so caught up in anything, whether it be work or makeup or whatever that you lose sight of what's really important.

I love Glamourdaze; it's become one of my favourite lippies. I wear it all the time. Your description is precisely what I was hoping Hot Chocolate would be. I just hope it's not too grey for me.

There's a YouTube video with swatches..http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=kbzEFZJI8lY&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DkbzEFZJI8lY Not sure if this was posted!?
The link is above it was posted earlier. Go to the end of the video. That is when Nikki has her swatch of hot chocolate also strong woman which is not the same as heroine even on darker skin tones.

hmmm that's tricky for me. GD was so plain on me. I wonder if this is what I needed?
GD was pretty plain on me too - I didn't buy it. Hot Chocolate's a much more interesting color. It'll certainly look different on different people. It's not a "normal" color, though. It's definitely the most unusual lipstick in the collection. I didn't think it was too brown or too grey to be hard to wear, but it's not a standard lipstick shade. It's the definition of TAUPE. I don't think this is one people should buy before they try unless they're fearless or remember the 90's, hehe. Worse case scenario, it ought to get more mauve-y if worn over a lip pencil like Just Wonderful, from Tour de Fabulous or more pink over Dervish or the like.

This is what I wanted to hear. I can't wait to try Hot Chocolate!

Well, my lips are so purpley pigmented that they add a bit of color to lipsticks so it will be interesting to see how HC looks like on me. I'm sure mac made TS the perfect color for its intended use ;) And, I bet Chanel brings Notorious back. I guess there are a few out there somewhere.

Maybe it'll look a little more mauvey on you, or more rosy. Some warm natural/nude blush will look great with it too. You got Haute Altitude too, right? You're going to be in love with that one

My lips are red and it read mid-tone taupe with a blue plum undertone. It's a Satin, but one of those very matte Satins. It's not my #1 favorite, but that's only because there are some super awesome colors in this collection. I think it goes Warm Companion > Haute Altitude > Hot Chocolate > Cozy Up > Apres Chic for me, based on how good it looks + how much daily use I'd get from it + how it will go with my clothes + grooviness factor

Am I overanalyzing this?? lol. I just want all my little lovelies in my hands ASAP!

Anyhow, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

As soon as I saw the 90's reference in your earlier review, HC went to the top of my list. Can't wait to experiment.

It'll look great with that Notorious blush of yours
