It's a white/blue-purple duochrome. It's booty-ful! Great with other blue-based purples and dark blues too! I personally don't use it, nor do i recommend it to be used, as a brow bone highlight, due to it having actual colour to it. It's best used on the inner portion of the lid with darker colours on the outer portion of the lid, or used on the tearduct for a lil pop of colour, but still light enough to actually highlight the tearduct.Vellum's always struck me as a bog standard highlight shade so I never even bothered swatching it. It obviously has a lof of fans though! What makes Vellum different from the gazillion other highlight shades out there? Inquiring minds would like to know!
Ah, that explains it. I imagine the duochrome isn't very apparent in the pan and only shows when swatched. That's probably why I never noticed it.It's a white/blue-purple duochrome. It's booty-ful! I used it as a brow bone colour in the past when I first got into makeup, boy I didn't know what I was doing then I also have seen people rocking shimmery highlights, but I can't do it if they are very very light like a white shimmery colour (Crystal Avalanche) or something like Vellum. I do like something like Urban Decay Virgin on the brow bone as long as I don't overdo it with shimmer on the rest of my eye.Ah, that explains it. I agree re: application - I only ever use mattes and satins as brow highlight and I wouldn't dream of using a duochrome *shudders*. Some people may be able to rock it, but I most certainly can't.
Hopefully...but it usually has the opposite effect. You might awaken her makeup beast within, lol.Happy Holidays!

For me, my mother had this super bright, sparkly peacock green eye shadow. I had to look at it and touch it and sneak samples as much as I could. When she'd wear it herself, I'd always get really excited, like it was a momentous occasion and as if I was wearing it right along with her. 'Must have been 7 yrs old.
To this day, I keep looking for a color just like this one. When I find it, it will be a glorious haul!!!
HUG YOUR MOMS!!!!

Mum had a Dior lippie called Tibet. It was a loud Barbie pink IIRC and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Grandma didn't approve and kept telling mum it made her face look like a baboon's backside. This is reminding me of a mom's makeup stash story - we all have one, I bet
