MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

My box arrived with everything inside. My lipsticks came packaged inside of a small black vinyl pouch with the MAC logo printed all over it. I was like cool, but then I remembered I accidentally selected MAC gift wrap.

Strong Woman is not like Heroine on me. It leans more magenta than Heroine and it's not as vibrant. Still a very pretty magenta purple shade, but seems more toned down. It seems like I would have a similar color in my stash, but I don't. It's darker than Dish It Up and Seductive Intent. Hoochie Lip Tar is probably the closest like someone else mentioned, but I didn't compare them yet. They weren't near me while I was doing my comparisons.

Absolute Power is not as dark as Runaway Red or as bright as Red Racer and Ruffian Red. It's actually extremely close to Charmed I'm Sure on me. Absolute power may have half a pinch more pink than Charmed I'm Sure, and that may be too much. But it still looks so good on, so all is forgiven.

Firm Form is more like a dark chocolate brown with gold flecks. I definitely need a full face of makeup to wear it properly, but it could work.

I love Party Parrot!

It's in your face bright and something about the color just makes me happy. A liner is needed to make it wearable, but it's so worth it. I'll finally have my mitts on Pink Pigeon tomorrow. I swatched it in store today and know I'll love it.

Which liner? I'm gonna use NYX Pinky. I only have about 4-5 lip liners. I need to get more, but I'm kind of seeing how my lipstick collection pans out plus I'm a bit cheap about that product. I need to find a dupe for MAC's Currant. NYX Purple maybe?

i thought it might be similar to all the other blushes that i've gotten lately, like small vanity and the perfect cheek...not the same of course, but i was trying to be 'reasonable'...

Wow I didnt come on for a few days with christmas parties on both xmas day and boxing day at our place so been kinda busy but I saw instagram BLOW up with the release of Strength! This collection releases in Australia in feb and am happy to get anything that is sold out in USA for you.

Lasting sensation, magenta, currant, vino, nightmoth, redd, cherry. Sorry, i don't own any other brand.

Ya I really don't need it. I swear I have over 50 blushes it's such an addiction. Blush and lipstick just get me every time

noooooooooo! i am so not looking for anything magenta. i had spitfire which was a magenta and i sold it because i barely used it. well if i dont like strong woman ill just sell it here. im sure someone would be glad to take it off my hands

Ok, I am a total moron, i placed an online order and have items coming Friday from my favorite Pro store but I drover 130 miles to go to MAC today lol. I am out of state visiting and HAD to shop. I went to the St. Louis Galleria first but there isn't really a MAC store there anymore. I did run by a MAC at Macy's counter there though. So I finally found a MAC store!!! The store had the Strength display off to the side and it hardly looked like it was touched. Everything was in stock. I was so much less excited for everything after seeing it and swatching. I guess it is because I have Pa Pa and PiPi or because it is winter and the Apres Chic lippies seemed so different and seasonally appropriate. Strong Woman to me was no bueno. It is like Spitfire to me but not as nice. It is just blaah to me. On darker skin, yes, grown up sexy purple, on me, horrible. Firm Form was a dark brown but not cool enough to jump on. Absolute Power was gorgeous, and isn't nearly as dark as it seemed in the tube. On me, even with the slight sheen, TS is a good contour but nothing I would totally stock up on. Poised was nice but had minimal color payoff on me as a NW15 or so. Poised was great as a dressed down blush but I have sooo many of those from recent collections. TS does look just dirty on me as a blush. The ALL Woman quad is the stuff!!! It is as good as functional as the CR Desert quad but better for everyday use. I LOVE it. The other one is not that great IMO.

Not sure if you're Dana. But it was nice meeting you today at the MAC store. Lucky for us there was no craziness in the store this morning. I was able to schedule my Archie Comics Event and got the cute invite. I got everything I wanted from this collection. Now I'm on a strict NO BUY till Archie collection comes out. Happy Hauling!!

I had to take a Xanax before I got there just in case LOL The invites are freaking adorable. I'm on the same page- no more makeup until Archie's- unless I can find another Chanel Notorious or decide to buy the Giorgio Armani Maestro foundation...
