MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

I really hope both colour story and swatches will be online soon because I'm really intrigued by this collection.
I quite like 4 out of 6 lipsticks and usually Spring collections are my favourites ^^

I don't see any difference between facial piercings on a male or female. It's more about how you carry them. Also, facial piercings are markers of several different and not always overlapping sub-cultures in the US, so how one feels about them may have more to do with how one feels about any of those sub-cultures. As for why two "hot" girls would fight over Archie, the setting in the comics is a small town, Betty lives next door to Archie, and Veronica kinda likes him because he's relatively natural, not a jock, not a geek, not another arrogant rich kid... I gather "gingers" get a lot of teasing and bullying in the UK: I've heard that Prince Harry is unhappy about how he has been treated as a "ginger". I like red hair - i've had several red-headed boyfriends. I think it isn't much of a stigma in the US. Model Archie's multiple piercings don't bother me. I'm not so crazy about those very plastic-y wigs on the female models, but i don't really care. It's fun.

Oh I'm extremely fine with piercings! I've got 3 in my nose, 10 in my ears. Im actually contemplating stretching my ears. I've just never been a fan personally of the brow, male or female.

I kind of like his piercings though. Well, I like how MAC gave it their MAC "edginess".

When i saw Christine of Temptalia had a post about Archie's Girls i was hoping for the color story, but it was just a link to a website we've known about for weeks.

I didn't bother to read the comments. I think people talk smack on the 'net a lot because they aren't face to face with another real human. I've been on and off the internet in some incarnation of it or another since the early 1980s, and so much hasn't changed, except there are now multi-millions more people doing it.

Multiple lip rings, especially when one or more is inflamed, kinda bother me.

Most of my piercings are not visible most of the time. I'm too vain about my small ear lobes to stretch them.

she got really negative with mac all of a sudden and that;s the kind of people she attracts, negative people. if you read the comments they havent liked any of the past mac collections, because they never get to test the products for themselves. all the do is repeat what she says.

I get embarrassed, cringes at times while reading the comments. I find them to be bold, bias, harsh and super critical and if I must be honest, somewhat amusing. Makeup IMO should not need this high level of analysis, critique and negativity.......plastic vs pvc clad models, provocative, juvenille, send on da collections, lol

Ugh. But she doesn't hesitate to make sure to call peeps out for doin it to her. I make judgements for myself, after trying em. It's easy to say a brand's products are going down the toilet, but to say it about everything, even before you actually try it, is rediculous. Which is why i was surprised she liked a couple items the last few collections. Her review track record was pretty consistent the last couple years.

The one on the right in the top row looks very similar to Oh, Oh, Oh which launched with Mac me over two years back, so pretty! Anyway I'm glad I could find the oh oh oh one, I'm sure these lipsticks are more expensive just for the cute package :/

Yes definitely they will cost more because of the packaging but oh the colors are worth it!

oh noooo she stole yo shhhhhhyt??? i must say i been crackin up at ur last few comments esp when she does call out other folks for not crediting her!! she has been pretty harsh on mac lately but i dnt necessarily take her word cuz i like to go n swatch n try for myself for a final verdict. she totally dogged out n TRASHED their office collection! i was like well dmnnnnn

I agree. There are some makeup boards where I feel people are unnecessarily negative about MAC all the time...with every collection. Glad to come here frankly.
