MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

If they still smell fine, and if they swatch as smoothly as ever, they should be fine.

When some lipsticks are old, they don't smell rancid, but they get hard and won't apply as they should, so that's another way to tell. But it sounds like yours are still ok. If something LE and/or in special packaging goes bad, there may be some collector who would want them, even if they can't wear them.

I throw away the old mascaras and ordinary colored rancid lipsticks. But I have a box of "museumized" makeup, stuff from companies that are no longer around (like Mary Quant and Biba) and some other fun stuff (swirly multi-colored lip glosses in pots from... the 80s?). I've also saved old lipsticks when i wanted to find a dupe, so i could bring them with me to compare.

My Grid and Lust were OK early in 2012, but they finally went bad a month or two ago - and they were from the mid 90s - so they lasted around 15 years. Because of their unusual colors i'm going to "museumize" them.
Did Grid and Lust go rancid or get hard? That's crazy they lasted so long tho. What finishes are they?

I get the full blown flu every year, along with an upper respiratory infection and loose my voice for a week. Fun times! It should be kicking in within the next month or two...
oohhh i see you are more compromised than me. you probably get more mountain dew.

Maybe it's from their own makeup line? I think they've added lipstick & eye lashes.

I finally tried Firm Form today. Love it! Thought I'd include a pic to encourage some others who may still be a little scared. The gold pearl keeps it from looking like Halloween makeup :)

Gorgeous look!!! I love it with your hair and shirt too. 'Best Firm Form look posted in this thread, for my money!! What are you wearing on your eyes and cheeks?

Hi all, I have an extra PiPi and PaPa if anyone is still looking. Would like to sell them (for what I paid) together though.

Unfortunately, it's near impossible for me to get to the post office to do international shipping though so I can only ship to USA. PM me if interested.

(CLAIMED by Specktra member - that was fast!)

Wow! I'm glad those two lippies lasted so long with you. I really really wish MAC would repromote them since I was too young when they came out. From your descriptions I know I would buy at least two each if not more just to have. Do you still have your Revlon Conga Lime that you spoke about previosuly or did that turn awhile ago? Wish I could have seen what that looks like also. I love your idea of "museumizing" them.

PS: I just got my shipping confirmation from MAC. MY Taupe Shape is on it's way. Woo Hoo!!!! My Amethyst pressed pigment is back ordered. Boo!

Really suits you! Especially with that top you're wearing.
