I remember Cyber being matte in the early 2000's. Maybe they changed the formula. At least I think it was. I don't remember it being creamy or shiny.

^Leeny, Try Lip Erase to diminish the pigmentation of your lips before applying lippie. This may help.
I think a bit of concealer over lips may work too.

Thanks Fiberluver, you reminded me that I have a Lip Erase somewhere in my stash that I need to dig out and try, no idea why I got it and never used it.

I always find that concealer sucks the moisture out of my lips and I dislike the way lipstick sits on it. I tend to put a generous layer of balm on before I start putting on makeup and then blot away some before I apply lipstick or gloss. I feel like trying to get concealer to stay put on top of balm would be a challenge. Time to experiment!

I'm not 100% sure if the actual finish was called a matte but I just don't remember it being creamy or shiny. I thought it was rather stiff and I couldn't get it to work for me back then. Not to mention I don't think I knew how to wear those types of colors then. I returned it.

Do you have Smoked Purple? If you like matte, you might like Smoked Purple.

I have all three. Belladonna Lip Tar is great, i was so sorry to hear it's discontinued. I think Illamasqua Kontrol will look good on you, it's very blue violet and it is matte, it should bring out your eyes. And, of course, MAC Cyber is a classic.

Kontrol is blue allright! I thought Goes and Goes was blue before I got Kontrol

I have Cyber (2000 version) and its a satin. But, it may as well be an old style matte because it is a bitch to apply. Really uneven and drying. I was going to B2M it until I discovered Prep And Prime. Now I love it, but it does lean into goth territory on my uber pale skin.
