MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

Boy have not been on here in a while! This collection is SO darn cute Although I think I may only get one lippie and one gloss. Darn I really love the brushes but I have so many...even hello kitty ones! Can one have too many brushes?

Can I just say how much I LOVE Karen's reviews and swatches?

I've managed to refine my list a bit and got reinforcement I want nothing from the Betty collection. I thought about getting the black pearlglide pencil but I have Black Russian which is black w/ silver and I love it. The Black w/ gold just isn't me.

It's still all about the Veronica collection for me

1) Spoiled Rich Eye Quad -- Gonna give it a try. Last year's Wonder Woman eye palettes really turned me off w/ the awful quality. I'm a sucker for purples and while I'm in love with MUFE #92, I've also come to be very fond of e/s palettes.

2) Lipsticks - Yep, getting BS, DLG and RR. Ronnie Red looks so ridiculously blue red that i gotta have it. Strangely enough I have no blue red MAC lipsticks at all. Don't like MAC Red, Russian Red looks like crap on me and I loathe how Ruby Woo feels.

3) Lipglasses - I need all of 'em, especially Strawberry Malt.

4) Prom Princess blush -- it's pink and as such I must have it

5) Designer Purple and Petrol Blue eyeliners - I need backups and Petrol Blue is one of the sickest MAC eyeliners I own. My current Petrol Blue is a sorry-looking stub.

I'm skipping the Pearlmatte powder from this collection because I already have Play it Proper beauty powder and my Salsarose blush looks close enough to the Frankly Scarlet used in the compact. I was going to get both pigments but...I've got Cinderfella which is such a sick silver glittery black which blends amazingly with any color.

Most of the items I'm getting are from the Veronica collection. I only liked a couple lipsticks from the Betty collection. I was a little dissapointed with Veronica's quad. @EngineerBarbie , you might feel the same way about it. As I was swatching it kept on reminding me of my wonder woman quad. Not sure if I will get it or not... I have a pic of the swatch if you are interested.

Yep, she knocked BB lipstick off my list. It looks too pink for me to love it. And the Cream Soda blush looks like its going to be ashy.

I love Karen's post! It reminds me of the one she did for Wonder Woman 2 years ago. It was my very first MAC collection and hers were the first swatches I found. I only ended up with a lipstick, blush and quad, but she made me so excited about everything!

the swatches are beautiful but I'm kind of disappointed now because I was kind of expecting the
lipsticks to be a little more vibrant. I really can't skip completely until I see this all in person
I did that with give me london of liberty collection and regretted it badly

I love Karen't post! Like you all already said it's very cute and well done. The Spoiled Rich quad looks very pigmented actually and she does light swatches most of the time, so that sounds promising. I'm also really happy that the pearlmattes seem to have good payoff.

Karen really has outdone herself! Luckily for me my list is only getting shorter. I'm waiting for reviews and pics from T and Allura before I'll make my final decision.. it's possible I'll end up with nothing. :lol: Though I want to buy something just for the packaging lol.

I love Karen's swatches! I also love how creative she is with showing us all the items. Too cute!

I love the looks of the purple quad and had wanted it from the beginning, but to pay $44 for it. I don't know if I should. Maybe I will still skip it. I'm waiting on Cover Girl's new P!nk makeup to come out in the Spring. They are suppose to be making new eyeshadows with her choices of colors and since she's outrageous I'm hoping for some outrageous eyeshadows from them. I am still getting BS and DLG. I think I will pass on the other stuff and wait for the April collections.

If I can score Flatter me Pearlmatte I'll be content. If Veronica's blush is similar to Play it Proper with a little frankly scarlet-ish hearts, I can safely skip. I have worn Play it proper twice or so since I bought it from the Chenman collection...

I think I pretty much know what I want but I'm on the fence about three things:

First is the Cheers my Dear pigment, I like it but I don't love it do I really need it?
Second I can answer myself it's just the Lord it Up pearlglide, it's perm right so I can get it at anytime just won't have special packaging. I love the pearlglides. They are amazing to me at least.
Also I'm still on the fence about Pearlmattes I really want one to collect but I wouldn't mind getting some use out of it every now and then still don't know which one to choose. By looks of Karen's swatches I should skip because it appears like its going to be ashy on me, but the compact is so cute.
