there are still older current celebs that are fabulous which teens like (jennifer lopez 43 yrs old, beyonce, 31, kim kardashian 32,) although theyre makeup are on the 'safer' side, but nicki minaj is 30 yrs old and wearing more out the box makeup so its really not about your age is about the attitude/personality of the person lol (ex. iris apfel 91 years old and is more daring with her lipstick than me lol)

I never hauled collections until 2012 - for almost 20 years I've stuck to MAC's permanent products and have purchased duplicates of many favourite lippies. I built up my collection last year and had a lot of fun doing it, but I now have virtually everything I could imagine wanting. If a product comes out that I love and that I think is different to what I have, then I'll get it. I'm not looking to buy all the things I like in new collections though - it feels duplicative at this point. I've recently gone through everything and gifted away my buying mistakes. I don't like keeping stuff that will never get used.
My collection currently fits into one drawer, and I'm committed to keeping it this size. I know everyone will say that it shouldn't be in my bathroom, but I've stored makeup that way for 30 years and never had a problem. I do keep those moisture packets in with the products and the door is kept open in our master ensuite. It's really not a damp environment. I keep my skincare on the vanity and my F&B in the fridge - I refill a sample jar every 2-3 weeks and keep it in my drawer. My few backups are kept in my bedroom closet.
I know this is small by Specktra standards, but it's all (really more than) I need.

that's a good size collection!! I have mine in seperate makeup bags ( since I like collecting those too lol) one for lipsticks and liners, 1 for blush, 1 for eyeshadows and eyeliners, 1 for lipgloss, 1 for lip balm, and one with my face makeup( BB creams, pore solutions, primer, lotion, face powder. foundation) along with my Naked Palette n mascaras. then I have a juicy couture train case for all my freebies and samples then I have the hanging travel bag from glamourdaze with all my special packaging LE items ( no more room) which is why I want the Archie's brushes to store my Archie products in the kit they come in. and that's not including my 7 baskets of nail polish! small by Specktra standards , but like you said, more than I will ever need or use! I need to seriously try harder not to buy stuff that I'm not going to use, I don't know HOW to use and that doesn't look good in me even if I like it in the package. luckily I'm pretty good about that already. I made some buying mistakes last year, but I've since purged them. Lesson learned - pink is NOT my friend, no matter how pretty the item is.
I have to keep mine together or I know it would keep expanding. I would find a way to stuff just a 'few more' items into bags. This not only keeps everything accessible for application purposes, it keeps me honest about what I actually have.
My brushes and pencils are also on the counter. A year ago my entire collection fit into the slot along the left of the drawer (bottom on the pic) and the rest was filled with skincare, brushes, etc. I've now officially run out of space.

That's a nice looking collection. I'm striving for what Mac-Guy would call a "well-edited" collection, but when you're starting from a zero base that still allows for some fairly decent hauling! I know I'll make a few buying mistakes of my own just because I don't know yet what works for me and more importantly what doesn't. It's very easy to get sucked into the LE buying addiction - I've done that before with hobbies, especially when they're new, so at least I'm aware of my weakness - but with makeup I know I'm not going to want/need 5 different red lippies,say, just because each one is a hair different from the last. I still expect my collection to have doubled or tripled in size by the end if the year though! I kept buying dupes of the same stuff before I realized enough was enough! I have everything I need and will only purchase unique products or amazing formulas from here on out. That's a pretty nice stash, Audrey C! I love purging makeup. Makes me feel so good.

LIPS: Cherry and Vino Lip Pencils alternately applied and mixed together to define and contour lips. Lady at Play and Lush Life Mineralize Rich Lipsticks (Available Spring/Summer 2013) blended with M·A·C Pro Process Magenta Lipmix and applied over the entire lip. Neo-Orange Pigment sets the lip.
