MAC Baking Beauties Collection (April 2013)

Me too! I love fragrances, but so many end up giving me migraines. Jo Malone never does. Her scents are so light and natural smelling. The Blackberry and Bay is my favorite. There was a sample in one of the Nordstrom catalogs a few months ago and I could not stop smelling it. I bought it the next day!

:lol: When I worked at the Bloomingdale's in San Francisco, I would go up to my Jo Malone lady and ask her, "what do it need?" and she could hand me something that she knew I would like, take one sniff, and I was sold. Jo Malone, for me, always has just the right about of smell, not too overpowering but enough that I can just barely smell it throughout the day.

The Jo Malone lady at the store I work at said I would have trouble limiting myself to just one, my coworker laughed and said I'd have trouble keeping myself from buying them all.

I really want to get at least one of the pearlmattes to see if they're any decent at color-correcting, what with one having green and the other blue. I have warm-toned skin that gets rather flushed sometimes, so both seem rather appealing if they show up enough. Otherwise, I'll just stick to the Flatter Me Pearlmatte from Archie's Girls.

I'm also wondering if the ratio of shimmery-ness to color will be any different from the Archie's Girls.

Redcurrant & Cream
A summer pudding. Sharp-scarlet juices of redcurrants, lush strawberries and raspberries, rippling through creamy musk. Vivacious and enticing.

Ginger Biscuit
Just-baked biscuit. Spiced with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon, melting into caramel. Butter-crumbly with roasted hazelnuts. Warmed by tonka bean and vanilla. Irresistible.

Lemon Tart
The mouth-watering tang of lemon tart. Sparkling with citrus fruits and verbena, contrasted with swirls of meringue and lemon thyme. Refreshing.


Hopefully I can get samples to try them before I place my order!

It all started because my coworker and I were looking at the cosmetics manager's Instagram where she had a picture of the bottle of Ginger Biscuit. We got so excited we rushed upstairs to go sniff it while repeatly saying ginger biscuit in a posh accent, but there was nothing to sniff! The beauty team had all gone to training to learn about what was coming in. The Jo Malone lady that last year they were nice enough to send the Spring stuff right before Valentine's day, but it should be at our store by the end of the month at the latest.

Maybe...but these kinds of colognes can smell "strange" on me.I am afraid that it is too sweet since coumarin seems to be
the only "spicy" part of it.And I am not sure if I like this smell as part of a cologne.

Nutmeg and ginger are gorgeous,though.And that is why I need Ginger Biscuit!
