MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

Yaaay!!! After debating about this collection, and going to the MAC store this morning, I ended up choosing the following: BB, DLG, VG Nicki 2 lipstick, and In Anticipation liner to go with BB.

Try this combination: DLG over Magenta liner. Then, dab a little VG Nicki 2 on the middle of your bottom lip. That's purrrrrty!!!! Love it!!!

Here was my experience with Macy's this morning.... I was torn with going and left late but decided if everything was sold out at least I can try the lipsticks on and see how they would of looked. I went to my first Macy's and she only had GND & RR left. She said they sold out 10 min after they opened lol She was kind enough to call the other Macy's and they did have BS & one DLG left (yay!) and asked to put them on hold for me.

I get to the other MAC counter and I'm sorry but the girl was so ditzy. It was just me and one other girl who getting a makeover, so it's not like she was real busy. She charged me for dlg and two BS grrr, so i showed her and she said oops sorry. To my mistake I didn't double check before I left. I drove 25miles all the way back home to discover she had only switched BS with RR. So now i'm stuck with a RR until I drive all the way back, so annoying.

Other than that I'm so grateful I bought the last DLG and BF. I didn't even know I wanted it but I really like it especially for winter.

So I just added a backup of Kiss and Don't tell. So my list of zero items is now: Prom Princess Ronnie Red Betty Bright Kiss and Don't Tell x2 Mall Madness Veronica's Blush Creme Soda Strawberry Malt Ouch! Good thing I didn't REALLY want anything... or this list would have been double.

Lol! It's a really pretty collection! I'm backing up Kiss and Don't Tell also! I am surprised i like it as much as I do. It's a warm pink, and so pretty on. its going to be so boss in the summer when my skin warms up again. I'm also getting another Strawberry Malt. It works so well with my reds. I was going to get another Ronnie Red, but after a few hours it looks like Love Goddess on me ( a good thing) so rotating those two works for me.

watching that video before i head to the store was one of the worst things i could have done. now, i suddenly feel i need those pigments and the caramel sundae quad.
i give up on selectivity with this collection. i'm going in there and doing whatever i want.

Yeah I'm still confused as to what it even is lol. I just got it in the mail from my bank but my debit card still works but it's not a credit card? Ahh I don't see the point lol. Just in my experience my Visa CC payments seem to take forever to go through on MACs website so I was just wondering if my new Visa debit would be faster...

hey katelyn - i tried using my visa debit on launch day, but mac canada does not accept it yet as a method of payment. i got an email the following day saying there was a problem with my card, and that they don't accept the visa debit at the moment. i was only able to phone them the following day (because they waiting the whole day to write to me!) to give them my credit card info, and the customer service agent told me that she could not guaruntee that i would get my items, since many of them were already sold out. i think pretty much all of them were 'sold out' on the canadian site at the time, but in the end i did receive them. i had wanted to avoid paying by credit as well, but no can do...

I'm also getting another Strawberry Malt. It works so well with my reds. I was going to get another Ronnie Red, but after a few hours it looks like Love Goddess on me ( a good thing) so rotating those two works for me.

Yes... I didnt even know i wanted K&DT . I didn't even swatch it in the store and just ordered it online... because.. I like those black boxes (which is funny because I could have just walked to my pro store and bought it) But its soo pretty. I'm amazed and I'm pretty sure its going to be my go to color... especially after it warms up around here and I can get some color.

I'm only getting on strawberry malt... but watch me want another one after I get home. haha... And yes. RR does look a little like LG on me too. It pulls a bit pink on me but still some red so I still like that its a tad different.

I feel like we're the same person right now. haha.

I was set on getting Kiss and don't tell but discovered I still have Strange Potion from the Villians collection and I haven't used it so I'm going to use it with BB I think. Now that I have everything for the most part ,except BB(waiting on Nords) I'm gonna start trying them on today

I'm liking Kiss and Don't tell over my Dior Addict Extreme in 366 Pink Icon. Its a nice lighter pink combo. So nice!!

Holy Moly. That's sucks. Now I'm glad I had them hold my stuff for me. They even called me to make sure I was coming and I was able to add my backup. ha.

I went to the MAC store right after my first morning class and did some serious shopping damage. D: Ronnie Red and the Betty pearlglides were already sold out. The Macy's MAC store still had everything left and the MUA was so happy about the collection and Archie in general. I wanted to cut down a few stuff from my wishlist, but ended up buying a lot more than what I expected and I don't regret it one bit. My store haul was Betty Bright, Ronnie Red, Daddy's Little Girl, Girl next Door, Strawberry Malt, Mall Madness, Kiss & Don't Tell, and Cream Soda. I was planning on skipping Ronnie Red, but it was too beautiful for me not to skip. Maybe I'll make a dream team of red lipsticks and call it a day with reds.

I need to impose a no makeup buy on myself for at least till April or Fall.

I took a break at lunchtime and took a run to my local counter. I definitely purchased right - there was nothing else launched that I wanted. The only item that was sold out was Cream Soda. I did like that colour, but I have so many corals that even the MUA thought it would be overkill (I bought Immortal Flower, Launch Away, Fresh Honey and Flower Fantasy). I'm wearing Immortal Flower with Flatter Me today, and I really like the combination. I think FM will look good in the summer with just a touch of bronzer as well.

I loathed Betty Bright. Aside from the extremely non-flattering colour, I see what many of you mean about the application issues. My lips aren't even remotely dry and it looked patchy. The MUA said it's a colour that really needs a gloss over it. I expect more of a $20 lippie than that.

For those that were wondering about my chiropractor appointment, I just found out I have a badly pinched nerve in my neck, a bulging disk, and some of the vertebrate in my back have shifted. It looks like ill be having appointments three times a week for a while. I see lots of retail therapy coming on!

That's what I just had back surgery for. I had a pinched nerve and a herniated disk so I feel your pain. My right foot hyper senstive. It feel like the top of my foot is sunburnt but it isnt. It drives me crazy. It Strange what nerves can do to your body. Good Luck with all your appointments.
