MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

So, as you know, I skipped this collection, but then made the mistake of going to my Mac counter today to just 'browse'. She put on Cherry lip liner with Ronnie Red and I really liked it! It definitely leans pink on me so I passed, because I already have Love Goddess. Then I told my MA that I was hoping it compared to Ruby Woo, because I love that lippie. She asked if I tried Cherry lip liner with it and I said no. She put Cherry lip liner with Ruby Woo on top and I fell in LOVE.

and walked out of there with the lipliner, a 211 brush, Uninterrupted prolongwear eyeshadow and the 224.

Hey erine1881 thanks for the tip of exfoliating with a toothbrush and then using TT. Worked great today with BB. I also used my lanolin for night on my lips. Definetly keeping my betty bright now,but not so sure about he BU I ordered. What lipliners are people using with BB

I like Auburn lip pencil so far, but I haven't had the chance to play with anything else.

Oh those TT lipsticks...those were a hot mess too, lol. Nowhere near the craziness of Archie or Marilyn, but they were still tough to find if you hesitated for even a moment! This is exactly why I just stalk the website and order online. Even though it involves a few sleep-deprived nights, it's worth it to me knowing that I'll get the things I want, rather than take a chance at opening time at a MAC counter/store. Although with this collection in particular, there seem to be a LOT of screw-ups going on with people's orders! To anyone whose order got messed up, I'm truly hoping MAC corrects the situation and fast!!! I had started quoting to respond to individual people's order issues, but there were just so many of them... Terrible!

I didn't feel a need for RR since I have more reds in my stash than I'll ever use up, and I found my perfect red in Deeply Adored from the Marilyn collection. "Coming soon" is a good sign though, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! And I will of course post on specktra immediately if I see it's available online anywhere!!

Oh yeah, and

Ugh i missed the MM collection I was overseas in Japan, actually when it launched it was mid day, I had just gotten home and was able to score Scarlet Ibis. I really wanted DA but I had VG 1 and that was dark red enough for me.. i hope lol I looked it up on ebay but i am terrified it be fake and its at $39.99 ugggghhh I am the same way I usually dont have stores around me, but when I do I dont take my chances and I know that i get my items online.

"storm" is an understatement, it was harder to get bread and milk than get the lipsticks LOL.

That's the truth---today was painful. I wanted to be home trying out my lipsticks, but I had to go to the dentist and the grocery store. Don't know which I hate more. Fortunately, I went earlier in the day & avoided any crowds.

Sure you can, and join team >$300. I'm loving what some people are doing with the quads. I've only tried Caramel Sunday so far and I LOVE it. Team five did you say?

I am the newbie to the site and I thought I let you all know that MAC plans on restocking the Archie Girl's product that sold out when it first launched online (i.e. BB, GND, DLG and the brush set). I was able to compare the Archie's lipglasses with glosses in my collection. I only compared colors through the tube without swatching anything. Summer Sweetheart and Stay Sweet seem similar to other pink CSGs that I own (Partial To Pink, Just Superb, etc.). Kiss & Don't Tell seems like a brighter Impassioned LG. Strawberry Malt looks a lot like my other red glosses, too.

The only one that stood out was Mall Madness. I'm already considering Caramel Sundae and Boyfriend Stealer when I go to next week's event. I may add Mall Madness to that list. It really would be unique to my collection, enough for me to tolerate the tacky texture. I think I'll wear other lipglasses next week to help me decide to pass or to get it.

well i picked my order today!

BB- is really bright. LS lip liner makes it more orange and bright on me. so im going to wear it with a pink rimmel london liner that i have 005 pure. which makes it more pink.

DLG -is just love i love my pink magenta colors!
i luv both blushes and the betty pigments. lucky in love and cheers my dear! ill swath those when i get good lighting,, im not even going to touch them right now.




i feel like betty won me. i got 4 things from her. and i love those 2 pigments

I have discovered Specktra makes hard to stay within your list/budget. I think I always end up with 2 or 3 or 6 more things than I originally planned. I have discovered I'm not a Fall Makeup person so I was able to skip a few collections without any remorse which my wallet needed.

I have a super big interview tomorrow with a company I really want to work for. Which AG lipstick should I wear? I got all 6 of them. Spoiled Rich or Caramel Sundae? Veronica or Betty? My outfit is black and creme colored. I can't decide.

Well, I couldn't wait for the restock at the MAC site. I went to a nearest MAC store, and got a brush set and Veronica's Blush pearlmatte today. Veronica's Blush was really pigmented. It showed up as a gorgeous light pink on me. I was sold.

thanks! i don't have the 188, but i do have the 187...i guess i'll use that. it might be a little too big, so maybe i should use the 130, though it's definitely denser...
(please don't tell me i need to buy another brush....)

The 130 is dense but it blends really well...just use a small amount of product.

I would go for Caramel Sundae and either Oh, Oh, Oh or Betty Bright patted on the lip lightly. You want to look polished but not too trendy or fashionable. (Except if you are interviewing for a creative industry - then you have a bit more freedom) You want them to remember you...not your fabulous lipstick.

What industry? Depends, but to be safe I would go soft w/Caramel Sundae & GND, lightly. Good luck w/the interview!!

LS to make it more coral, IA to make it more pink.

And I kicked myself when I went to Sephora and they have a Lancome lip and nail duo for 15 bux. So now I am trying to get RR off my hands. I hope you are not pissed off at me.
