I'm not an MUA, nor do i play one on TV, but...

First, MAC seems to recycle color names from time to time. Heroine, for example: a brown lipstick in the Wonderwoman collection, a purple lipstick in Reel Sexy. And i know that's not the only recycled name. So i wouldn't assume that a skinfinish and an eyeshadow with the same name would be the same colors.

Second, i checked and the word "patina" isn't the name of the skinfinish: "Double Definition - Soft shimmery gold / Patina bronze"; it's being used as an adjective to describe "bronze".

Third, in reality patinas - the oxidized surface of copper or bronze as it ages while exposed to air, moisture, heat and cold - tend to be GREEN. So i wouldn't worry until i saw it. So many more important things to worry about. Like where am i going to get the money to haul all the collections i panting for in April

Or for a contour...

Do you think the less metallic part is a blush? or just a less metallic hl?
Seeing as how there are separate blushes in this collection as well, I'd say no. Both sides are probably highlights, one option being a high shine, the same as the original launch of EDSF, and the other side being a a softer shimmer highlight.

Yes or bronzer!

In the mineral collection there are also seperate mineral blushes and skinfinishes that can often be used as blush, bronzer etc.

I don't think it is possible for them to make an EDSF that I will love more than WoG bu I will have fun trying to find one

WoG is the best. I already have a serious dent in the one I got from GD. Good thing I bought a b/u!

So sad I didn't get into highlighters just a few months ago so that I could have purchased one!
Don't worry, there are so many beautiful highlighters out there and which one is the "best" is so subjective! And with this new ED collection coming out, there will be even more options for us to drool over

I agree. I didn't own a highlighter until last summer when I bought Light Year, and now I have 7. I don't own anything that wasn't released in 2012 or 2013 and I'm not suffering of a shortage. I have all I could ever need, but since I'm such a sucker for cute PMs, I'm sure I'll end up with a couple more.

MAC will continue to release great MSF, EDSF, PMs and BPs. There will be plenty of new and re-releases for you to consider for your collection. I don't bother hunting for older releases (Marine Life, My Paradise, etc.) because I know there will be something else I'd like just as much being released.

I think the half-darker color on these EDSF disappointed me since I was hoping for a whole pan of something along the lines WoG or Superb! Ah well maybe I'll love these ones as well and continue to anticipate even more highlighters to collect!

I know what patina is. I never assumed the patina e/s and highlighter would be the same color. I clearly said I only used the former as a reference for imagining what it would look like. And I was asking a real life makeup artist who knows color theories how patina would behave (i.e. looks muddy, cancel some other color etc) as something you put on your cheeks or all over the face.

But going back to topic, there are lots of exciting things to look forward to in April!

I'm not too sure about the double colored EDSF, I might just pick one which is the safest color in the bunch. Skipping the eyeshadows since I only used the Glamourdaze EDES once. Blush I don't know, it seems I have something that looks similar from the color description. I'm getting more from the Fashion Sets than from any of the April collections.

I have no real idea what I truely want until I see some leaked photos and swatches, but here's what interests me the most!
Shape the future skinfinish
Definitely defined skinfinish
extra silver e/s
opalesse e/s
triple impact e/s
bareness blush
blazing heat blush
at dusk blush.

Now I hope I don't end up loving all of those things cause it'll cost wayyyy too much!!
