MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

So yesterday I had my appt for 4:00 pm at Nordstrom and I had it scheduled with my MUA that I love and was so excited....well things went horrible. First she got booked doing a full face prom and that takes 1 hour so she told me to come back at 4:30 so I did and well she wasn't done. She didn't get done till 5:00...oh well no biggie I had time sorta. She sits me down and then she goes to get products and tells me that shes in overtime and has to leave </3 I get this girl who is a freelancer and well it terrible, seriously my 6 year old has done my make up better She used the veronica palette and it was horrid. I felt bad for her too. It took 1hr to do my eyes....we had to take some off and wash and just nothing was working. I just wanted to get my stuff and gtfo I get up and tell her what I want, well they were sold out of most...just barely. I was so irritated I had been there for 2 hrs and I could have had everything I wanted. I guess that's my fault. This has never happened to me and I have been shopping at MAC for over 10 years.

Haha I come home and my bf was like ya you better wash that off.....and he loves dramatic bright makeup

Happy News I got everything I wanted in the end except for RR

Hmm I sorta want the veronica palette but I'm afraid I will have flahsbacks of my experience.

Oh my goodness! What is your skintone! I'm like a tad touch darker than you are.

BTW, I love the swatches! I'm wondering how BB will look on me now, because I thought it'd be like orange. But it looks like peachy/coral pink color. I like it!

Omg I was never interested in Ronnie Red so I didn't include it in my pre-order but now that it's sold out I want it soo bad! I have Charmed I'm Sure which is apparently only a tad darker but something about that pinky red is so to die for! Anyways I guess my only option is to stalk the MAC site! Lets hope it pops up within a couple days I hope everyone's loving their stuff! So far I've gotten Daddy's Little Girl, Betty Bright, Lucky in Love, Cheers My Dear, Flatter Me, and Cream Soda! If I had it my way I'd also get the Spoiled Rich quad and Ronnie Red! Oh pleaseeee MAC gods bring us a huge restock!

thank you!! and thanks to all who commented on my struggle lol. i only had ordered 2 things. for the hell of it i looked on nordstrom and they had the feeln so good lipgloss so i ordered and *fingers crossed* ill get it this time. i mostly wanted that so ill stick with just that for now. but thanx ladies ,yall made me feel so much better just for the fact u guys were willing to help me out! *** kisses***

Oh ladies of color and errrbody.
FLATTER ME PM IS A MUST!
I got it even though I couldn't *really* see any color, BUT it works perfect in... I dk how to describe it! It's soooo pretty. It's like a barely there color, that adds sheen, takes away redness AND luminizes (I'm just throwing words in there LOL) the face! It's so pretty! And it does NOT look ashy in photos. I'll try and post mine later when I am on my own computer.

And I think for the sake of Specktra, I am going to go look and see what NC/NW range I am in. NW45 is too red for me, but I feel like not many people use Matchmaster Foundation.

i found most of the products in this collection surprisingly universally flattering! i wasn't expecting much of it to suit me, but here i am with 6 products *already*...
i'm sorry to hear about your experience.

although this time around i had a good experience, i've had similarly disappointing experiences when having my makeup done at these events, and for that reason i was kind of anxious before this one.

it feels kinda hit and miss, because with appointments being booked so tightly, and stores/counters being understaffed for the volume of customers, it's sadly bound to happen. someone else posted earlier about their experience, and a couple of members suggested contacting mac to let them know how you feel. i agree it would be a good idea, so that hopefully they'll try to take it into account so that they don't upset all their customers!

LOL That's what my bf was saying! He's like "that is not going to suit your skintone" and then everything looks amazing LOL.

In SD I have never really had an issue with understaffing... I usually find TOO many people standing around, makes me anxious like "who is gonna disturb the makeup flow"

I use and love matchmaster foundation, im an 7.5 in that. Based on your aviator it looks like you have a yellow undertone, you probably are in the NC range

I use MM foundation, though I'm considering switching over to the new mineralize foundation when it comes out if I love it. But based on the shade matching chart MAC came out with, if you're a 7.5 in MM, you're likely NC50 or NC55. (ETA: Based on your avatar pic, I'm guessing you're closer to NC50) At least it gives you a starting point. HTH
