I just saw this on MakeupAlley, from 'Simplymac'
I hope it is okay for me to post it, I just got so excited when I saw it!
She wrote it was In for a Treat, for IMO it looks more like the other one? the leaves look periwinkle rather than mint.
Either way, I do really like the design!
omg if this is how its going to look im going to get it regarldess if it works for me or not!

I'm not crazy about the design...but that doesn't really matter to me. What matters to me, is how it looks! I do hope that it is a bit lighter in person. If the base color is as dark as it looks in this photo is going to end up being more of a bronzer than a highlight for me. Although, It *would* be nice to have one pearlmatte more geared for WOC and one for pale ladies, like myself.

I've used enough mixed colour face products to know what see will turn into something else.

I expect the physical design to me the same for both of these like most other Pearlmatte lunches.

I like the fondant look of the designs personally, I mean we are going for cake here in this collection. lol

....it fits perfectly IMO!

As I already said, I expected something different, but I like this even more. For my liking MAC did a good job

I wasn't sold at first, but the more I scrolled through the posts to catch up, the more I like that it looks similar to the top of a cupcake. I don't know if it need it, but maybe more pictures will make me change my mind.

I have made a note to pass on this collection. I will still go and see it in store. If something captures my attention, I might get it, but this is mostly a NO for me!

emm, this is so NOT what I imagined. Any one else thinking that this won't swatch well? the design looks stiff as if it won't be, you know, buttery. I do need to avoid the foody references in this thread, it is just making me hungry. And yes, I am so glad I didn;t skip Veronica's blush for this. I am not feeling that PM at all

Has anyone used the Luster Drops before? I see their gonna be in this collection. Are they like a liquid highlighter, Like Benefit Highbeam, etc.?

They can be used that way or mixed with another product as well. Not sure if they stay put like Highbeam though maybe someone else can weigh in on that. They are a bit glittery for use as a highlighter I would think...I have only used them for the arms & decollette

I just bought them last week. I thought I would get Pink Rebel but Sun Rush was so, so pretty.

My MA showed me how to mix them with my foundation -- I don't tan so the LD gave a nice glow and darkened my foundation a tiny bit. She also showed me how they can be used as a cheek highlighter, lip highlighter and mixed with body lotion for a nice glow.

I've mixed it into my foundation, but I don't recall ever using them like Highbeam---no particular reason why though.

Thanks girlies! I've seen them here and there at Mac but never used them. It sounds like their multi useful and something new to add to my collection. I'll have to get w/ a MA to show me pointers also! It's been ages since I had a consultation just for fun.
Have any of you noticed that it "brightens" your face when you mix with the foundation? I feel like my skin is so dull even w/ my foundation on, probably because of winter most likely.

The flowers and leaves on the powder reminds of some of the design elements of Paul Poiret, an haute couturier in France beginning around the turn of the 20th c. and peaking around WWI. His styles were no longer popular after the cultural changes that followed The Great War. His fashion house was dissolved shortly before the stock market crash of 1929 which signaled the beginning of the Great Depression.

I love his fashions. He was phenomenally innovative. Here's a link to a fashion drawing by Paul Iribe, who was popular at the same time, of some Poiret dresses, one of which has flowers that echo those on the compact:

Many of Poiret's design elements and fashions also inspired popular graphic artist Mary Engelbreit's designs - for example:

That Pearlmatte looks cute but will not get any in this collection since I got both Flatter Me and Veronica's Blush Pearlmattes from Archie's Girls collection. Will be sticking with my list. I'm also thinking about trying a MLB this time.

The snow is exclusive to the lustre formula. As mac red is not a lustre, it won't have snow. And alcohol has no effect on the lipsticks, except for immediately killing germs on the surface. Dipping in alcohol won't prevent new germs from growing, nor will it extend the life. Yes, you can.
Thank you for that!
