hello, Went to MAC and was matched up with NC25 mineralize cream foundation; went to a different MAC and was color matched with NC37 studio sculpt. Am I missing something? Why two different shades, who's got it right? Help.

In UK i went to buy a studio fix powder, and they matched me as NW25 just by looking at me.... i said could i try it first and when she put it on my face, it was like a bronzer on me :) 'oh, perhaps the NW20 would be better then'.
Might be as once its bought and used over here, you cant return - increase in profits?

Maybe you had extra makeup on at one of the visits - more bronzer or contour? Or even the lighting in the shops? Time of day? Now im just making excuses for them ;/

Sorry i havent been much help have i?

:)

interestingly enough, I bought studio sculpt NC37(too dark) and tried a sample NC35(too yellow): went to a different counter and bought what I initially wanted which was the mineralized cream foundation in NC30 but now that looks dark too. I'm beginning to think I'm NW not NC. Ugh.

Try an NC25 or if that too is too yellow, then try NW. Always ask the artist at MAC to swatch different types of foundation on your skin. It's always a good idea to swatch before you buy. It gives you an idea of what you like on your skin. And the artists at MAC will gladly help you. You can also always ask for a sample to see how you like the wear of the foundation throughout the day. Just be sure you're at a MAC store, not at a counter because the counter won't always be able to give you a sample (that's just my personal experience at their counters).
