MAC Fashion Sets 2013 Collection (April 2013)

Is it crazy that I'm kind of disappointed at how similar Ablaze is to Toxic Tale? I'm nowhere near finishing my tube of TT, so I really don't feel I should buy something else that's so similar. I'd gotten kind of excited for Ablaze. Maybe I'll opt for the lipglass instead. I am still planning on getting Heroine, provided I don't have the same reaction when I see it as I did last time. I had planned to get it and then when I swatched it, I decided Violetta was close enough and I let it go. One of the problems with having a big collection already is that I find too often that items that seem exciting are too close to ones I already have.

Same here! I feel like I should be happy because it saves me money but don't. I also have TT.. I was so excited for Ablaze but I don't need a TT dupe.

This is great. Why does Magenta l/l look just like Heroine l/l? Is MAC trying to fool us? LOL!

There's definitely a difference between the two in person.

Oh no no no Copperhead! Rich Purple is brighter and more of a blue purple. Grape is a darker black purple.

Heroine l/l is gorgeous. I don't own Magenta so I knew it was a must. I use Phonto, an iPhone app

should i get silly lip liner? do i really need it? i dont own any pink lip pencils lol the only lip pencils i have are Stripdown, hodgepodge, spice, and mouth off. all by mac lol

Thanks erine1881! It's also true that what looks the same on the hand/arm doesn't always look the same on the lips. And vice versa. You know how sometimes shades look the same on the lips but you can a slight difference on the hand/arm? Yeah.

I'm torn on EM...originally I thought Silly would be most dupe-able, but I feel like EM is easier to duplicate...I have Dear Diary and it seems awfully close...Anyone have an idea of how they would compare?

I know this question was for erine but its def true. Ive experienced before when i tried two lipsticks on the back of my hands and can tell the dofference but literally on the lips it was the same!

You make me buy things when you post pics like this, girlie! Lol! Thanks for the swatches today as well, I now know I need Ablaze in my life! Seriously, you look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G with this shade!

Ablaze everything... liner, lipstick, and gloss I love this color, but I realize I ALWAYS gravitate towards these shades!  SLV, Lady at Play, Hibiscus... I am just a sucker for bright fun coral lippies!  So I probably didn't "NEED" this lipstick combo... But Oh Well!  HeeHee I don't think Ablaze lip liner is a must-have if you have Lasting Sensation already.  If you have a choice, I'd go with Ablaze l/l since it does show up a tad more than LS on the lips.

No. I don't think your crazy at all. If I had similar colors in my collection, I wouldn't bother with it either. But, I since I missed out on TT I picked up Ablaze instead. I'm kinda glad too. I think I prefer matte finishes more.
