MAC Fashion Sets 2013 Collection (April 2013)

i called 2 mac stores and 3 counters. No one is pre-selling. Maybe if I go in the story will change. Nordstrom said they aren't pre-selling but are booking appts for the launch wtf...

I had called a random Pro store out of state last week before it launched online and did a pre-sale. She took my cc info, along with the items I wanted and said they'd be shipped out the day it launches. I wasn't sure I'd be able to catch when it hit online, so I took that step to be on the safe side. I tried going in store here in NY and no one allowed it. Not even my Mac store where the know me very well. I'd try calling again...maybe a pro store to be exact.

i actually just saw everything in person too I didn't have dolly pink with me but once I swatched silly I knew silly was brighter.
i did have nyx purple rain and compared to heroine lipliner it seemed more purple! I'm still gonna get it anyways tho llol silly lipstick is actually ALOT brighter than I thought it was going to be! I preordered it lol as well as embrace me l/s and l/g, ablaze l/s, Heroine l/g and 2 l/l ( one for GlamQueen). I want silly l/g and l/l now too lol
the only bad thing is they pull the items in the order they were taken so I might not get everything I wanted

i already have heroine lipstick and embrace me pencil but I want the sets lol

oh and the heroine np looks different from T's pic it's a lot darker than her swatches make it look...

Her lighting is super bright. Thats why i dont always take her swatches seriously. But im still grateful for all her swatches cuz she puts in work lol

I'm still trying to get my hands on an extra Heroine lip liner or two. The ones being held for me are for CPs so I'm hoping I can get at least one for myself.

Purple Rain is a tad bit lighter, than Heroine liner, and it's not as purple. It's more of a match to Magenta l/l.

Silly was also much brighter than expected, but I surprisingly like it! I paired it with Heroine l/l and topped it off with Silly l/g and it looked great on me. Glad I didn't pass on it.

And I was wondering about Heroine np. I usually can't base getting a shade of n/p when going by swatches. The color always tends to vary for some reason. I'll have to check it out once it hit stores. I'm such a sucker for purple!

I totally agree! I usually use hers as a slight reference. But she does amazing swatches and I find her comparison shades really helpful when she mentions it in the description of each product.

I could've totally passed on the Embrace Me products. Silly was definitely the shocker from this launch!! I was hesitant on ordering it based on swatches I came across, but I was totally surprised to see how pretty it was. Definitely the unique shade of the sets. And yes, Heroine l/l is a must!!

I always like vibrant colours on darker complexions

Way better than on my NW 10-15 skin!

I'd definitely have to say Heroine of course, and then Silly. Ablaze is really pretty as well, but I have lots of bright oranges already. Once paired with a liner they all tend to look the same on me. Embrace Me was just ok. More wearable than Pink Pigeon and Candy Yum Yum for WOC. I own over 100 Mac lipsticks so I can usually find some sort of dupe among them all, but Silly was the only shade that I couldn't find a similar shade for.

I agree. It's nice that she takes such detailed images, but the colors are slightly off. But she is pretty reliable on having swatches of every Mac collection and having them up within a day or so of launch.

Just got back from my MAC counter at Nordies! They allowed me a pre-sale and I have Ablaze l/s and l/l set aside, but they won't let me B2M for Ablaze. I'm a little worried because they only took down my first name for the hold and no other information, so I hope that they still have it when I go back on Thursday evening. Should I just order it when it goes online for Nordies to play it safe or should I take a chance and hope that my counter still has my pre-order when I go back?
