MAC Fashion Sets 2013 Collection (April 2013)

It's so nice to see everyone's photos in their beautiful lipsticks! Y'all look so gorgeous! I can't even begin to tell each and everyone of you how lovely you look!

Me, I'd just look a little kid who got into her Mommy's makeup if i wore Silly, Embrace Me, or Ablaze - just too bright for me.

I did get Heroine lipstick and I'm wearing it today. Two things:
(1) i've never been a fan of matte lipsticks - i've got a few now, though, to try to get used to the look; and
(2) Heroine just isn't blue enough for my taste.

So i used Nightmoth lip pencil in the upper and lower corners of my lips, extending it into the lip a bit, and on the cupid's bow. Then i blended it in so it wouldn't be a hard line. I think Heroine looks better on me that way.

I also considered using my Hi-Def Cyan Chromagraphic pencil, which i will try out tomorrow. Then, the next time after that, i'll try a thin layer of periwinkle blue OCC Butch lip tar on my lips with Heroine over it. And, of course, there's always Viva Glam Nicki 2 to throw in for yet another look...

When i tested the eye shadows, Ablaze and Embrace Me seemed to give the best coverage and color payoff, and Silly was a close second. I think they will not disappoint.

However, Heroine was a great disappointment to me, not just because it was sheer, since that can be desirable, but because it went on so patchy and uneven. I did test them all on my bare inner arm, however, so on an eye lid with a primer Heroine might go on better.

I skipped because i have a lot of pinks already and some oranges, but they should be interesting for people who haven't tried those kinds of colors before.

Finally got my stuff with a few BU's on the way. I got all the lippies, all the liners no shadow or lip glosses. I have way to many lip glosses open and in boxes right now even I had my sis pick up Mirrored plum to wear with Heroine. I went into Inglot yesterday to pick up 281 and 282 and the sales girl did a fabulous recreation of Heroine which was spot on ( I compared it with Heroine in my bag) so it can be done! CartoonChic you have me searching for my Hi def Cyan pencil now. Thanks for the idea! All of you ladies are looking fabulous in your pretty new lipsticks!

Looks great! I am still on the hunt for my heroine lipliner. Hopefully my Nordstroms backorder will come through. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed for the both of us. I've had backordered items from Nordstrom ship before with no issues, but never a MAC item. I'm more nervous about it just because it's MAC.

Lol, you're putting me on the spot! Give me a few days. I have to work up my nerve. Plus I haven't worn makeup in months, so I feel rusty. I still owe a picture for the Theme thread that I never did. I guess this will be it.

Today I wore the heroine fashion set. I was so impressed at how long wearing it was and as it wore off it was this bright purple-pink color.....AMAZING!

For those questioning whether to get silly or not.

I still think taht pink will make me look like I have pink eye.

Try doing a smokey eye with a dark purple on the inner and outter corners with silly popped right in the center. Then smoke out the purple colour on the bottom lashline as well.

Or just keep silly on the top lid with a winged liner and a clean bottom lashline (but don't skip the mascara!).

Or do an ombre with silly (inner), parfait amour (middle) and contrast (outer). Repeat the combo on the bottom lashline. Winged liner or regular on top.
