I've never used EDES wet. For those of you who have, do you just spray your brush with Fix+ and then touch it to the pan? I thought that would ruin the ES.
:nods: these and MES are the only mac shadows that won't ruin by using them wet.
I was thinking, if you had a domed empty palette (With extra head-space or however you wanna describe it) .. Do you think you could depot the eyeshadows or would it be difficult?
I've been afraid that the shadows wouldn't hold together as well since they're not in a metal pan, so I'm afraid to depot them. There isn't an insert sized for the larger eyeshadows (I WISH!); if there was, I'd feel safer depotting.
Like audrey said, since they aren't encased in a pan, but rather sits on top of a tile, if it breaks (as they also easily pop free from the tile like MES), it's gonna go all over!

I went, swatched and bought. Yes, Zestful is gorgeous and looks like a mermaids tail, I just have no clue how to use it! Def def is lighter than Superb, and Shape has this duochromeness to it. Shape is my favorite of the three.
 Hmm, now I'm worried I'm not going to know what to do with mine.
Try zestful on the center lid with plumage on the inner and outer corner and bottom lashline, and saddle in the crease. Or switch out plumage for brun or embark. If you want a more wearable daytime look use the same colours as above and do zestful all iver the lid with the darker colour just in the outer corner.

Def Def, by a landslide. YMMV based on your undertones. Your skintone is a bit deeper than mine as well, so you may like the darker side of STF better than I do. Not coppery - they refer to it as 'brick' but it pulls very burnt orange on me. Def Def is the pinker one.
Ok thanks! Def Def pulls pink when it's on? Both the highlight and darker color? How would you describe it? Sorry for so many questions! =D

I posted swatches and comparison pics earlier in the thread. If you click on the pictures section on the right side of this thread you'll be able to look at all the individual pics and click back to the posts with the comments.

The aura micas work best over deep bases. I done't even have to be black which is why they look stellar on deeper skin tones.

TY for those gorgeous swatches. What was the black base you used? Would Blackground PP work you think??? I get annoyed dealing with loose powders, even MAC pigments, but I love the versatility and duochromenicity

Hi to those who are thinking of depotting. I was curious myself about doing that this afternoon, so I googled and found a website with a photo tutorial of how to depot them. It seems that you will need to the usual tools (empty 26mm metal pan, alcohol) for pressing pigments.

I'd hoped to do just that and place in the blush inserts that fit in the new duo palettes. However, last night, I popped a mineralized blush with the black casing still on, out of it's exterior case and even with the thicker palettes, they still don't fit. So I ordered, just this morning, a domed Z Palette and plan to place a magnetic sheet on the bottom, then pop the black casings out of their exterior cases, place magnets on the plastic bottoms and put those in the Z Palette. Hopefully, keeping them in the little plastic casing on them will be enough support to keep the terra cotta interior stable.

I admire your courage depotting mineralize products. I do have depotted regular blushes and eyeshadows but mineralize just seems to be some kind of mass disaster waiting to happen if I drop the whole palette. I have to admit though that it is annoying to have lots of individual pots of mineralized products!

By the way, I saw this question quite a few pages back, but someone asked how Fiery Impact compares to Early Morning and I don't think anyone replied. I was also wondering the same thing so if someone has both blushes, could you please let us know your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Z palettes are already magnetized, so you should be able to skip the magnetic sheet. The magnets that come with the z-palettes are pretty strong too. Let us know if they fit with the plastic casing still on.

I am sooo definitely NOT on Team Self-Control.

I got to my local MAC store about 15 minutes before opening. I was the first one there. Then two more people showed up. And then a fourth. I walked in first when they unlocked the door - i had been the first one there and everyone else was behaving politely. But the SA asked the woman BEHIND me what she wanted. So after she finished, i walked up the the SA and asked for what I wanted. I was concerned because at least two of the other customers were buying dupes.

And what did i get?
-- ALL THREE Skinfinishes. I only tested Double Definition and Shape the Future, but i was already sure Definitely Defined would be good on me. Self-Control, score Zero
-- two blushes, Bareness and At Dusk.

I mentioned i'd ordered the eyeshadows on the web, and the SA said that was good because they'd only gotten four of each!

I also told one of the women shopping about how it took a while to get the coating off the blushes, but afterwards the colors would be much better. Just trying to help out a fellow MACaddict.

And when i got home the UPS truck drove up and the driver had my little black box in his hands. Woo-hoo!
-- Triple Impact e/s
-- Smoky Mauve e/s
-- Opalesse e/s
-- Zestful e/s
-- the 128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush (the eye brush looked too big for me)
-- and also Archie's Girl Betty's Lucky in Love Pigment

I've never purchased a backup of anything before, but... I love them so much! Do I really need to own 3 Triple Impacts and 3 Opalessessess (hehe)? Going to my FS Store later and tryin to decide if I should purchase 1 more or 2 more of these shades along with Def Def & STF...

i know the pic is low quality since i used my phone in my room to take this pic lol but wanted u guys to see Flaming Chic on me. I finally got it to show up. I had to scrub like i was cleaning something with one of my brushes until i saw the 'top layer' was starting to wear off lol and thats when it started to show up on my skin

ETA: i also had put macs face and body on my cheeks before putting on the blush

I've had the 128 for quite some time and it is one of my go-to blush brushes. I apply the product with one side and buff & blend w/the other side. I've also used it to apply MAC Face & Body but I find that I reach for it more often for applying blush.
as am I..really interested in hearing some thoughts on this brush

Ahhh, I have spent DAYS trying to catch up on this thread. For some reason, Specktra wasn't playing nice with Google Chrome on my work computer and home laptop. Then I ran out of battery on my iPad and phone and then I caught the flu! I just spent the last few hours catching up on the last 40 pages! I had to browse through swatches and search for Liba's review.

Now, it's time for me to head to the mall and pick stuff up (or order things online) and I have no idea what I should buy! I'm pretty sure that "all of it" isn't an appropriate answer (for my wallet).

I'm leaning towards Definitely Defined EDSF, a couple of the eye shadows (definitely Triple Impact) and a couple of the blushes....but I want ALL the blushes! So much for my blush no-buy...

Strangely my Mac did not have this collection out because they said they only received some of the products. Glad I called earlier that week to confirm the launch. They did get the skin finishes which were lovely and I wound up buying the 2 light ones. I swatched a few of the blushes and shadows at Nordstrom. Glad that I wasn't impressed because I need to cut back on the makeup spending.

I've never used a Z Palette . . .are they magnetized plastic like the MAC palettes or magnetic metal on the bottom? My pots don't stay put in the duo palettes without a magnetic sheet added . . .I'm thinking with the added weight of the plastic and terra cotta, extra magnet strength may be needed. I'll try t without first and report back.
