Played with Sounds Like Noise l/s and Daydreaming e/s today. I really love Sounds Like Noise! I tried it 3 ways to figure out how I like it:
Applied sheer. No gloss, just a light hand. LOVE it this way!
Full blast! Would need a liner to go with it like this. Maybe "what a blast" prolongwear lip pencil?
Tired SLN with Auburn l/l and I love it this way too.

I received my Genuine Orange pencil today and I'm a tiny bit dissapointed. It's not an exact match to Sounds Like Noise, because it has slightly stronger yellow undertones. It makes SLN a bit more unwearable when I use it underneath. I'll try it some more times just to see if changing the rest of my makeup helps, but I think I'll wear SLN more without a liner. I might also try to apply GO less heavy.

I agree. I received my SLN Saturday and I already had GO but I noticed that it is more yellow too. I only tried SLN once on my bare butt face with no liner, but I think I'll try it with entertain me then. We'll see how that works out.

I might have to get Entertain Me too. Even if it doesn't work with SLN it would be nice with Sail La Vie. What do you use GO with?

I played a bit more with some orangy lipsticks and lipliners on my hands and when I use Lasting Sensation on top of Genuine Orange it creates a colour very close to SLN. I wish Mac had a lipliner this colour, because although I can create it myself, I don't feel like applying two lipliners and mixing them together. It seems like a lot of work and I also think I would apply too much product.

SO far it has been collecting dust. When Iris Apfel came out I stormed in the Pro Store and when I literally set one foot in the store I asked a SA to get me one of each of the l/s and l/l. Later I saw that the original liners weren't there but that they had been replaced by Process Magenta, Genuine Orange and Basic Red. I have used PM a lot (more than Embrace Me) and I can see myself reaching for BR instead of Redd, but I haven't so far. GO is still there, longing to be used.

Luckily I noticed in time that they didn't have the right liners with Iris Apfel. How diffent is Process Magenta from Embrace Me? I've been thinking it might be a bit darker and thus a better match for Quick Sizzle.

It is a bit less bright. I wear it with PaPa and some other colours. I'll swatch them together in a few minutes, ok? My PM has become short and I'll def buy a new one.The poor thing

I am loving SLN. It's such a unique and flattering color to me. I switched up the matte finish yesterday and topped it with Revlon Orange Glow Colorburst lipgloss and it looked fantastic that way too. I've been trying to find a way to use the Colorburst lipgloss because it's not so good on it's own for me, but this combo works.

With you on both counts. Love SLN, not sure about DD.
DD's nice but in a meh sort of way. I got it because (1) I'm a Veluxe Pearl h00r and (2) I thought it would be a less in-your-face version of Sugarpill Asylum (Asylum can be a bit too much sometimes lol). Well, it kind of is a less in-your-face version of Asylum but now I wonder why I bothered because I can get more or less the same effect when I blend the crap out of Asylum.
I dunno, maybe I'll change my mind when I play with it a bit more. So far I only wore it along the lower lashline (the rest of my eye makeup was light neutrals) and if I wear colour along the lower lashline I want it to POP. I can't say DD did much popping.

I have to say, I'm disappointed with SLN on me. I think the color is beautiful, but the formula is soooo drying. I wore it to the mall yesterday and when I looked in the mirror I was horrified! Lol! It settled into every lip line and was so uneven and patchy looking. As much as I love the matte look, it's so not flattering on me. Bummer. This might be the only mac lipstick I've ever returned. It's so beautiful on all of you! I wish it worked for me! Oh, and I put it over a lip balm. It looked fine when I left the house, but by the time I made it to the mall it was just bad.

In direct sunlight: PM on the left, EM on the right. PM is darker, a bit warmer and creamier. EM is brighter and has more blue to it. PM is a versatile colour though. I've worn it with PaPa, PiPi and several other pinkish l/s.
The pictures do not do the brightness of EM justice. IRL it is a lot intenser.
Same colours indoors near the door.
While we're at it:
In direct sunlight: SLN on top, l-r Genuine Orange, Entertain Me and What A Blast l/l all on NC 15 skin.
And indoors, near the door:
Swatched on the hand, I think Entertain Me is the best match for SLN. It is a bit darker, but I have the feeling it is a more flattering combination than GO + SLN.
I think I am set for coronation day.

Did you try Prep and Prime lip?

Now I want Entertain Me. I thought it would be the same as What a Blast and I thought WAB was too bright when I swatched it in store, but since it's not I'm going to order it. I like to fill in my lips with liner and not just use it around the edges. I love lipliner so it won't hurt having yet another one right?
