My fave dark red combos are rubywoo x diva = gives me a duller deeper red that still managed to be bright
another is to line my lips and fill in the outer corners with rebel, then i put ruby woo in the middle and blend. I get a very nice darkened red with a bright pop of color in the middle.

I was reorganizing my lipsticks last night (yeah, now TWO boxes for violet, lavender, purple, plum, fuchsia, berry, and maroon lip products), and i pulled out Musky Amethyst - "semi-opaque berry plum with ruby red shimmer" (Semi-Precious coll.). It looks like it almost fills the bill, although it does have shimmer, which i don't mind. It isn't quite black, but it's a VERY DARK red with a hint of blue. Christine of Temptalia said it was sheer, but it's pretty solid on me.
We don't have regular summer where i live, so i wear dark lips whenever i want. Now Musky Amethyst is now back on my radar...
And i'm still working on what stuff to get to blend my own blackened red with a hint of blue lip color.
-- I have some fairly true red lipsticks i can... sacrifice...
-- I have periwinkle blue Butch Lip Tar.
-- I still need a true green - Powerplant OCC Lip Tar is in my shopping cart, but it has shimmer, which i normally like, but not for this experiment...
-- And i need a black - debating whether to get Tarred OCC Lip Tar or MAC Black Lip Mix...
