MAC All About Orange Collection (June 2013)

Phew! So proud of myself. I decided to sit this one out. I feel like the orange lipsticks in my collection get the least amount of love. I'll channel the funds towards Riri's collection next week ompom:

I'm the same way, I love the site for seeing how a product holds up and to get a basic idea of how a color might look out of the tube/pan, but our skin tones are so different and my lips are way more pigmented than her's so I can't really base my buying decision off her swatches. I mainly use it as a way to gauge whether or not a product is worth driving up to the nearest MAC counter for, unless of course it's an online only item.

Same here. Kinda makes me sad especially with those new tattoos and infallibles that came out, all of her swatches look rough compared to other bloggers with similar skintones.

Awe hell! I was at stupid work, missed out on the lippies I wanted! And I had a guy bail on his check so I had to pay for it. So I lost $20 tonight and made nothing. This day sucks!

do you work in a resuarant? Im not sure about in CO but in WA its illegal for your employer to make you pay for somehing like that.

Honestly everyone's swatches look more pigmented than T's!

I sorta take this back, the only thing that she overdoses on but has calmed down a bit recently is her full face blush swatches . Some of those use to be really cringe worthy.

I couldn't really get super into this collection, as orange doesn't always suit my fair/cool skin, but I have to admit I'm a little shocked at how quickly some of the lipsticks went.

I think beautyzine's images are even more washed out. I know it's so hard to get true colors when using a lighting system. The good thing is, I can count on T to swatch nearly everything from every collection and I know what the stuff I have looks like, and I can kind of judge her swatches that way. Although, Christine's skintone is much deeper than mine, so sometimes things look good on her bad on me and vice veras.

I, too, generally just look at T's other swatches to try to compare. The biggest problem with that is that she's warm toned (and darker) and I'm extremely cool, so everything looks completely different on me, anyway! Ex: Everything swatched by T for this collection was/will be completely useless, because I'll just turn all of these products pink.

Yup. And it's my b-day. I also have an appointment for a Chanel makeover the same day. I was throwing tantrums to try to get these collections as gifts. It's not working. Everyone keeps putting me in a corner.

Crosswires has been a color on my to-buy list forever, but always gets overlooked because it's perm. I'm going to make more of an effort to pick up perm items when there's a "slow" period. After RiRi launches again next week, I think the next collection I'm interested in is Tropical Taboo. That gives me roughly a month to scratch some perm stuff off my list. That's probably a really good idea now that I think about it. I think the summer price increase happens around July.

So tempted to just buy all the lipsticks because I love the color range. I'm not getting any of the Riri stuff so I can almost justify it. Maybe I'll just wait for the department store releases and see if I still feel the same way.
