MAC All About Orange Collection (June 2013)

does anyone who owns both Fresh Salmon and Flamingo feel that they are similar in any way? I own FS and i love it but never could get a hold of Flamingo...it's kind of hard to tell from simply looking at swatches online. TIA!

I owned Fresh Salmon at some point and tried on Flamingo when it first came out... two completely different things! Flamingo's a lot lighter, brighter and slightly milky on me (NC30) whereas Fresh Salmon was a good orange-coral with a slightly gold sheen and applied more juicy on the lips. Fresh Salmon also brightened up my complexion. Needless to say I didn't purchase Flamingo (although it looks soooo pretty), and Fresh Salmon I liked a lot... until Made to Order came out which I liked even more.

Thank you Cyclops! I ordered Flamingo last night when it launched and i'm hoping that it's not too milky on. I've seen so many swatches of Flamingo that it's super hard to tell what the actual color will look like. Ah oh well....i guess it can always be returned if it doesn't work.

It does look chalky if I apply a thicker layer, and settle easily in the fine lines. I applied a light coat for this pic, and dabbed with my finger, but even then, it can settle in the fine lines after 15-20 min. My lips are weird though (wrinkly, kinda?), so it might not do it on someone else. It won't be an everyday lipstick for me since it's so pale, I will only wear it with strong eye makeup.

I'm NC37, by the way.

Can anyone tell me what lipliner would be good to wear with Razzledazzler (i've tried Chicory but wondering if there's something else out there) and Flamingo? TIA!

Thank you Cyclops! I ordered Flamingo last night when it launched and i'm hoping that it's not too milky on. I've seen so many swatches of Flamingo that it's super hard to tell what the actual color will look like. Ah oh well....i guess it can always be returned if it doesn't work.

Maybe if it's too milky, you can put on less product or use a lip brush or blot it. I personally get annoyed when I have to blot lipsticks to reduce the pastiness (and I don't even swipe *that* many times... like twice maximum on the bottom lip). It just feels like such a waste of product. Most of it just ends up on the tissue paper... I feel like hey, I didn't buy the lipstick to use one third of it and have two thirds of it in the trash!

In any case, don't return it, it's such a waste! I am sure someone on here would love to get their hands on it!

Thank you everyone for your kind words about last night. I actually didn't even tell management. The one on duty last night wanted to write me up last time someone walked out. And I can't be written up cause I'm technically suppost to be fired. I got a bad score on a shopper. GM said next time I f'd up I'd be gone. So it was either pay it or get fired. I'd rather loose $20 than a whole job ya know?

I absolutely ADORE the lip swatches from this person!! I first saw them on the Après Chic collection and I thought wow, it's like a work of art. I am amazed how identical she manages to make her lips look everytime!

Well, poo! The flakey internet went out around 8:15 Pacific time last night! I'd been re-loading the page for about an hour, just in case... and then, poof! no internet.

So i missed out on Flamingo - all the lipsticks except Razzledazzler were already gone by this AM - i'll be stalking my local MAC store for Flamingo.

I did order Royal Sunset and Immortal Flower (and a couple "goodbyes"). I was surprised they were both still available this AM, although Honey Jasmine was sold out.

Riri Woo is different. They have a lot of stock for Riri Woo because it's getting released twice in the black packaging in two different months that's why there's "still" a lot of it going around. But what I didn't make clear was that I think MAC doesn't make the same number of lipsticks in every collection (i.e they produce more for Archies and Rihannah than say a smaller collection like the YOTS embossed lipsticks or mattenes from StyleSeeker or in this case AAO). Bottomline is only MAC knows how much they actually produce every collection.

EDT: But anyway, my AAO (plus some perms) stuff shipped so horay for that! happy bananer..

Well, I called MAC today to complain about the stock/ insane quick sellouts that have been happening almost every release. The supervisor says we understand the frustration with LE releases to which I replied, almost instant sellouts every collection that most people do not even get a chance to buy is beyond LE - it's ridiculous. You should have enough stock for longer than 5 minutes. As a great customer of MAC I cannot buy one of an item right at release time, but a seller on ebay has 20 or so to sell of each item. I get the LE thing, but its been a bit insane the last few releases.

Estee Lauder Corp. called me just an hour after that because they wanted to note what they could improve on. They looked at my account & said, "yeah, you really are a great customer".

The last few times I've gone to a Macys, no one even wants to wait on me, or even answer a question because they are doing someone's makeup. The other day when I bought a lipstick the girl was actually quite rude about having to wait on me.

i was considering flamingo and neon orange, but i don't think flamingo will really show up on my lips and i can always get morange (close to neon orange) any time if i decide i really want a color like that. so this collection will be a pass for me and i'll just save my money for riri and tropical taboo.
