I tried Flamingo today and this is another love for me. I wasn't really into MAC when it first released now I see why it was anticipated. Excuse my bareface and pajama shirt LOL.

Uh oh...ya'll are making me feel like I NEED these blushes...and I'm not a huge blush using fan. It's why blush collection is so terribly small. I just don't know if any of these will actually show on me well. I'm allegedly NC45 but it pulls orange on me every time so I suspect I am an in between that needs to be mixed. The only MAC foundation I've ever been able to successfully wear is Face & Body. I want to try MAC foundations again but I have several bottles that remind me why I couldn't use them (need to b2m them)

I wasn't even considering the blushes, since I thought they would be too light, but Honey Jasmine looks so pretty on everyone! I don't own a single MAC blush but this may be my first. And it's a few dollars cheaper than Nars Gina.

I hoping I don't miss the launch online for nordies or Macy's because I'm on bed rest (I'm 35 weeks pregnant).
Congrats! My baby girl just turned 8 weeks. I almost missed out on Fashion Sets because it was released around my due date, but thanks to a wonderful CP'er, I was able to get everything I wanted.

hi everybody.

i got to see the whole collection the other day - sorry i haven't been able to get to writing one of my usual missives, but people are getting their things in the mail by now, so at least there are plenty of lovely photos from everyone!

Gotta talk about the blushes - I don't know if I finally ran into one of these batches you have to scrape, but I found them to be very subtly pigmented. Royal Sunset barely showed on me at all - and I'm NC15 (at least on bare skin). Honey Jasmine I liked, even though it was super subtle, because it has strong yellow undertones which works very well with my skin tone and just very gently warmed my up all over without oompa loompa face. If you were someone who liked Fresh Honey MB - this is the softer, more pastel version, with less brown.

I didn't get to try the eye shadow palette on my eyes, but the colors are great if you are looking for greys that don't go bluish and cool around the eyes. All Woman quad is very much in the same department, although it has more of a mix of tones and that one taupe-ish one, while Rainy Season is a more subtle array. All the textures were great - very soft and pigmented, but i bet this could also turn up in batches that will need the scraping, like the blushes. I put one aside, but that's because I don't have a lot of good grey shadow that works for me already. They certainly have just the right color balance to go great with all the lipsticks.

And those lipsticks! Wow! If you love orange lipstick, you will be in hog heaven. The only one that didn't pop like crazy on me was Tart & Trendy, which with my lip color mixing in, seemed a bit subdued. It will look fantastic on darker skin than mine and also on cool toned people of any skin tone (probably will be one of the easiest colors for very fair and cool toned people to wear from this collection, in my opinion). The only complicated thing for me was between the lustres and the other finishes, you would wind up with a few that seemed almost identical, except one would be very bright and strong (the non-lustres) and one would be subtle and good for any day (the lustres). The best example is Razzledazzler vs. Sweet & Sour, but Tart & Trendy vs. Sushi Kiss fits in here. Of course, Flamingo and Razzledazzler are very related shades too. Last year I didn't even buy Razzledazzler because Flamingo seemed enough for my needs, but this year I'm getting both, primarily because I lost my Flamingo and have really been jonesing for more lippies like it ever since. Sushi Kiss is just ridiculously adorable and so is Sweet & Sour. I'd say SK is more related to Reel Sexy and Sweet & Sour is more related to Betty Bright, but BB is much pinker than anything in this collection and Reel Sexy still stands as being the unique color it is and is still my favorite of all (although it's got good competition from SK and S&S). Tangerine Dream is just wacky - like something I had back in the 90s. I like it for being completely funky, but this is a club color; not something to wear all the time. I love Sheer Manderin Sheen Supreme and DO wear that one a lot for any occasion as a jazzy not-quite-nude, but TD is much more outrageous on me, even when blotted down. Still, I love it when MAC comes up with something out of left field like this, so I'm all for it!

The nail polishes are really pretty too. Ke Ai has a lovely crystal sparkle shimmer in a very pale pink sheer jelly - super pretty and a change of pace from all the crazy nail polish color trends. Sweet Pop is a very orangey peach that is cute but not super bright and in your face. Definitely what I'd call an "it" color for this year. I've got another couple of polishes from China Glaze that are related, but all of those are much, much brighter and in your face, while Sweet Pop is more sophisticated, without becoming more drab and run of the mill. I have nothing against MAC polish, especially the newer formulas, and think they really do nude and subtle colors better than any other brand and these two are excellent in that department.
