RiRi Hearts MAC Summer Collection (June 18, 2013)

Finally made it to the right place lol. I'm sad about it begin pushed back I really wanted my lippies

Wouldn't stop me from buying the lipstick if I wanted it, but negative publicity like this reflects poorly on MAC even though it shouldn't. I'm sure some people will [irrationally] assume it was the lipstick itself because they only see the sensationalist headlines, and others might pass because they think MAC tester practices are uniquely unhygienic. Even just hearing something bad that's only vaguely associated with a company will create a negative connotation in some people's minds.

Ya thats true it may impact them more generally in stores versus just with rir woo, I didn't that that far haha

If everyone who got herpes sued places they tested lipsticks without sanitizing them, sephora would be out of business.

Im starting to think it was always june 18 because when mac releases online only collections its always been on a tuesday so i already found it odd it was being released on a thursday. And plus mac would have already sent out some of the press samples or some for blogs by now which would have been before this whole herpes ordeal i think lol

June 18th.. ah that just sucks! its depressing enough that Im going back to work that week (from mat leave) and we have a strict pc usage policy where they monitor and record what websites your going on and no phones allowed either..and if they release at 12pm then I guess that means im missing out on this AGAIN. boo.

lol so true..its sad how many ppl just dig into testers without sanitizin them.. somehow I think it just doesn't occur to them that someone may have used it bfor them.. bcoz of this I have a strange habit of sanitizing the lipstick bfore AND after I am done with it..

Someone posted this on MAC's FB page-No thank you. I've learned NOT to use/buy any MAC products made by Rihanna. She only uses her favorite secret ingredient: herpes Left out her name but come on, have some form of common sense here.

That just cheeses me off, so ignorant.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it has anything to do with the lady suing them anymore, although yeah that's bad press and realistically no company wants 'herpes' associated with their name right or not.

Seems like something else went wrong somewhere and if it didn't MAC certainly dug that hole with their confusing information.

If its a set release where the time will be told to customers beforehand what's the point of 'regretfully saying there's no information' all the time? Same with them releasing different information to everyone to the point no one knows what to believe. It made the whole thing seem really unstable when they did have this info printed up and spent a lot of money to get that June 6th date out.

I feel like it hurts them more since now it seems to the general public like they're admitting (by omission) somethings wrong. Like we need 2 more weeks for...nothing, nothing at all, *cough*.

Seems like they'd just be feeding into that woman's accusations to the general public if something else didn't go wrong to make them delay the release. Just my pondering.

I totally understand that, but I thought Rodarte was controversial in the message of the collection and who they were portraying. This is more of a technical error rather than a distasteful collection. Oh well, to each his own I guess..more riri woo for me if people skip!

OMG, Rodarte. Now that was crazy! I was definitely happy that MAC pulled the plug on that one.

Yeah, I saw a lot of idiots people posting ignorant comments. That one in particular is very classy... NOT!
