And I agree with the term sanitation efforts. Studies have shown all brand testers are gross! They can't sterilize them so you're using them at your own risk

Would this really make someone not want to buy the lipstick? If a person is able to change their mind for such a silly reason, clearly, they would not have the patience to actually try to get this lipstick online...
I don't see how MAC can be losing money from this "bad press" considering it is not in the formula

For some absolutely. A few years ago MAC had a collection coming out that was pretty distasteful in many eyes(Rodarte) which was definitely warranted but many were still willing to buy and some have items from that collection. All depends on if you consider it worth it or not.

Wouldn't stop me from buying the lipstick if I wanted it, but negative publicity like this reflects poorly on MAC even though it shouldn't. I'm sure some people will [irrationally] assume it was the lipstick itself because they only see the sensationalist headlines, and others might pass because they think MAC tester practices are uniquely unhygienic. Even just hearing something bad that's only vaguely associated with a company will create a negative connotation in some people's minds.

It's dumb everyone has a brain to think for them self never in my life have I used a sampler where possibly thousands of ppl have used and how is this macs fault she probably had herpes simplex 1 already because that's what causes cold sores and even if she hadn't ever had a real break out it lays dormant therefore the lipstick could have had any kind of germ even dirt or touching the tube and that could have just caused her to have a flare up but to say the lipstick itself caused it is far fetched so everyone who used it should have a break out

This may jusy apply to the CANADIAN release but I just e-mailed my contact at the Toronto Mac office and she says that the collection has been delayed and she is not aware of the new launch date. She also said they don't have information on whether the pro discount is applicable but she heard that it may be.
It seems MAC is having trouble releasing this collection! I can PM the email to anyone if they PM first for confirmation. I don't feel comfortable posting it here.

I'm a waitress and sadly I get them. But still have to work, at $4 an hour we can't rely on paychecks so we have no choice. And managers wouldn't let us take off for a cold sore. You'd have to be dying to call off lol. It really is embarrassing to serve people with one. I hate it.

If they do this I don't know what I will do. I will be in Jamaica during that time visiting family and there's no wifi available. I was excited for this collection and I am pretty bummed I'll end up missing it because it got pushed back.

Awww that's shit, maybe see if someone can get you them or go to an Internet cafe? I just saw another Instagram photo that said the same thing and a girl commented saying that she read a blog in which the author said she spoke to a mac rep who said 4 lipsticks will be released - riri woo, talk that talk, who's that chik & riri boy? :S
